Once they knew the professor was in, Nem spent the next few moments taking in what little of the waiting area outside the door there was to see. They'd never spoken to this Kitridge woman, but they knew of her, had seen her at feasts and meals, and were aware of the proclivity for enthusiasm and happy snaps, and that had been enough to keep them far, far away from this part of the castle until now. That and the aforementioned 'Divination is a waste of energy' thing.
The door opened and Nem turned to look at the occupant, then dropped their gaze by several inches. Of course, they had a significant height advantage over her as well, that was another thing they'd known.
"Hello, professor," they said politely, stepping inside the room and closing the door behind them. This office... it was hard to say what was more offensive - the walls, the rug, or the smell - but Nem remained impassive and focused instead on the woman who presided here. This subdued version of Kitridge did match what they'd observed of her in recent weeks, but Nem nevertheless expected the old exuberance to return at any moment, and had fortified in preparation. "No, thank you. I actually just came up here for a word. My name's Nem Upstead." Just, you know. Manners or whatever. "Is it okay to talk?"
By this they meant was it safe to talk, though... really, that was only for her benefit.
