Violet hadn't see Professor Schmoe around for several days now and had finally decided to go check up on him. Even though Muggle Studies wasn't one of her favorite classes, ever since her talk with him last term, she felt he was sort of like a friend--as much as a teacher could be, that is. And he sometimes seemed strangely young, like he needed looking after.

As she approached his door, she could see it was already open a crack and the professor's head was peering out, looking this way and that down the corridor. Was he expecting another student? Drat, Violet hoped he didn't already have an appointment. Or maybe he was checking for enemies--Violet could understand that, she had found herself checking the hallway now whenever she exited the Slytherin dorms.

"Professor Schmoe?" she called in what she hoped was a soft voice. "Are you busy right now?"
