Even on his best days Morgan was perpetually distracted, but with the way this school year was already starting to be, it was even worse. And that probably was a very bad thing. He was sure to get himself into more trouble. As he eyed up the hooded figures at the perimeter of the classroom, he absently tugged on the fringe he'd taken to styling his hair by, hoping to cover the words still branded across his forehead, even if they'd faded somewhat thanks to Phoebe's essence of murtlap.

But he visibly cringed when they sent what he figured was a stinging jinx to that younger Slytherin girl. Was she a first year? He wasn't even sure what she did to deserve that, but he did feel kind of bad for her. Ouch. Good that she had a friend seeming to comfort her though. But.. why would they vanish the classroom door? Or did they vanish it? Either way, Morgan thought that was very strange and unsettling, though probably not more so than anything else that had happened so far. He just hoped they weren't going to hold them here indefinitely.

You know who was awesome though? Professor Kitridge. Morgan appreciated her trying to stand up for and protect them, but he was also a little concerned. He was sure the hooded hooligans could just as easily turn on her as they did on everyone else. He really tried to refocus his attention on his rocks as he went about initialing them and on the class itself. He thought he knew what an omen was, though he didn't really have anything more to add to what people already said, at least about the definition part of it.

Still, he raised his hand to offer an answer, even if he was considerably more subdued than usual. "If you're really good at reading omens and seeing them and knowing what they mean, it can help you be more prepared. Even if they're bad omens, even if you can't change it. Might help lessen the blow if you're prepared... though it'd be cool if you could look out for them and change course." He added that last part as an afterthought as he was talking, because that could be a cool part of omens. But did that work?
