And by golly was she relieved that it was just a charm and not an Unforgiveable Curse.

She pulled her wand out, perking up a bit at the dummies getting fun clothes. Her brief moment of cheer did not last long, though, when suddenly they were not in the classroom but in some sort of creepy mannequin scene. With baby dummies. Her eyes widened. He didn't...did he expect them to blow up the baby dummies? She looked around nervously. Maybe she could just pick some dummies that didn't have fake babies with them.

She did a silent practice of the triangle movement he demonstrated, then headed toward a tall dummy standing next to a food stall. She figured it would not be smart to delay following the instructions. Especially since he had just said that if they did as they were told, it would all be alright. She didn't fully believe him, but she also didn't want him to change his mind and hurt Ashley like he'd already threatened to. Cornering her target between herself and the food stall, she moved her wand in a slightly lopsided triangle. Deep breath. "Bombarda!" she said with imaginary confidence.

There she was, buying herself a nice giant pretzel for her walk along the promenade when ....

BOOM!!

What had she ever done to you?

Uncomfortable though. See, when someone is yanking your head back like that, and then suddenly lets go and shoves you in the opposite direction, you don't do a very dignified exit. She slammed her hip into a desk, hard. She pretended that that hadn't happened though, and instead rubbed her chin, where there was probably a red or blue mark from the wand. Ouch. She ignored it though. Even the most undignified maneuver could look cool if you just pretended like it was fine. Ash was happy to practice on dummies. Not that she had ANY ill will against muggles, but she did have to release her pent-up rage in a safe manner. Therefore she faced a singular dummy. Shaped vaguely like her. Of course, inwardly she was pretending it was Rosier, but she hardly said it aloud. She practiced the wand motions a couple times. Feeling confident, she turned back to the dummy. "Bombarda." Apparently she was feeling very angry, because the bombarda she threw was... well, it was strong. She took a step back and threw a couple more.

The poor man turned in time to see the wand pointed his way. He let out a scream. A short scream. It was over as quickly as it begun.

Burning at the stake? Curtis himself was intrigued at how graphic the idea would end up being. He couldn't think any longer however as more answers poured, they were either too nice or too exaggerated for him to believe anyone would want to go that far against muggles. So with that, his attention focused on staring and watching the adult's reaction. He takes pleasure in the misery of others.. What would make him feel the same? He stopped right there though, for all he knew this adult could read minds and he didn't fancy having a tattoo on his face.

Now they were instructed to cast spells at the dummies. Okay... Seemed easy and then he saw them animated as if they were living people. His eyelids lowered resembling almost a glare at the sight. We're going to blow up muggle dummies.. Some even had little minature dummies. He sighed, If anyone's going to bomb up the baby dummies it shouldn't be the kids here. Curtis then aimed without hesitation at one holding a baby dummy in their arms with the appropriate triangular motion. "Bombarda." The two for one special. You can thank him later, firsties.

Lovely Lisa the dummy was taking little Lizzie the dummy for a walk when this strange boy turned a stick at her. All she could do was clutch the baby close. "No, please--" The only words before both were gone.

They had their little chatty mouths again, which was a relief... and possibly terrible news for both of them. Hopefully they could just focus on the moment and accomplish the task. Rebellion LATER, babies.

Time to blow up some fake!Muggles. "Bombarda," she pointed at a small dummy. She only wanted to throw up a LITTLE bit... and she felt better when her spell completely didn't work. It had been a while since a spell had failed her, but could anyone really blame her?

Almost enough to overlook her unfortunate status. Bernie had nearly forgotten that his man already knew her, already knew too much about her probably. He'd been here all last year then, really. This was REAL. This was... this was disturbing. She was almost shaking with newfound anxiety as the scene turned into a beautiful, peaceful moment that they were supposed to destroy.

Because of course, of course that was today's activity. The complete and utter destruction of the Muggle way of life.

"Where is this, Brighton?" she murmured to herself, looking around with big, sad eyes. She already knew the spell bombarda and frankly felt proficient at it, since it more or less did the same thing as confringo but with more... er, heat.

Bernie still squared up to a dummy (NOT one with a baby) and took a deep breath, picturing the face of the new Headmaster instead of the clothed dummy. "Bombarda," she cast levelly, quickly and confidently making the triangle motion.

This one saw it coming, all the good that did.

"No, please, don't!!" It began to scream but that was quickly silenced by the very proficient bombarda.

And now--all those answers the students were giving about how to get rid of Muggles--she knew most of them were probably saying those things just to avoid trouble, but--people seemed to be enjoying it a little too much. If they all pretended long enough, would they really turn into bloodthirsty pawns in this dangerous wizard's game?

Violet pulled out her wand and cast "Bombardo" at the first dummy she saw, but she was still nervous and missed. Oh no, what would he do to her if she didn't hit one? Hurriedly, she cast the spell again, taking aim this time, and hit the next dummy dead center, watching it explode in a flash. Okay, it's just like shooting at bottles, just aim and hit. Violet exploded another dummy, then another, almost like a robot, all the time saying to herself, They're not real, They're not real, They're not real...

He made the triangle motion with his wand. "B-bombarda..." Nothing happened.

Quinn steeled his nerves. He knew that he couldn't not blow one up, without... consequences. He pointed his wand again, making the triangular motion. "Bombarda..!" This time, Quinn managed to blow the arm off of the dummy. He gasped a bit at this, not expecting it to actually work at all. But, if he wanted to get it right, he had to blow apart the whole dummy. More practice, then...

Tools to mold in to becoming the perfect killing machines.

He hadn't even noticed at first that the scenery had changed until he saw the dummies moving to take their places and the first shouts of the Bombarda spell being shouted around him . The Hufflepuff just stood there, wand in his hand but he wasn't pointing it at anything but the ground as he watched.

He saw a group of three dummies sitting at the table and all he could see were the faces of his parents on the dummies taking out his little brother for ice cream. This wasn't right. This just wasn't right. This was pure evil and nothing else.

Trying to convince himself in to thinking that these were just dummies and not real muggles and people he loved, Minjae raised his wand and pointed it at the couple with baby at the table. He had to use both hands to aim as they were trembling so badly and as he envisioned the dummies being the cult followers and its tyrant of a leader an actual smile placed on his face. Something sparked in his eyes as though electricity ran through his body, concentrating on one thing and that was getting stronger to one day overpower the cult.

He could already imagine it and he had the feeling that most of the students thought the same. Get stronger and fight back later.

The Bombarda spell was something he had already learned on his own back in his fifth year so he did not need any practice.

"I'm sorry..." he whispered before moving his wand in the correct motion and directed all of his frustrations and anger in to one spell with utmost concentration and non-verbally send it to the dummies.

Wooooow. All they wanted was a nice family afternoon together. They had their WHOLE LIVES AHEAD OF THEM. Think about the CHILD.

None of that mattered anymore. In a flash of brilliant light, they were blown to pieces.

And this activity? It made her angry. ”They’re just practice dummies,” She reminded herself (and Catherine, since she was so close by). Only it was very apparent who these dummies represented. Mums and dads and little kids and babies, even, just living their lives. The anger bubbled up inside of her so much that she realized she was squeezing Cat’s hand too hard and she let it go, offering a mumbled sorry.

Raising her wand at a taller looking daddy!sized dummy who she VERY much pictured as Headmaster FAKE, the blonde narrowed her eyes and uttered a very focused BOMBARDA. And not only did the dummy suffer the consequences, the two behind it did, too.

...She’d heard her mom talk about a badger boom before and if the lioness had a moment to boom, well she supposed this was it.

The dummies behind the one she blew up? They were screaming. Lots of screaming, all the screaming at seeing others blown up.

Wait...really? They got to blow stuff up on the first day? Eden's mental soundtrack came to a pause as she repeated the professor's words in her head.

Look, the school year was off to a tremendously disappointing and frankly traumatizing start. Eden was currently ignoring processing about 26 different emotions, and...there was that pesky anger, bubbling below the surface, waiting for an opportunity to slip through any cracks in her emotional composure. Eden had already spoken out of anger once this lesson, and really didn't think she'd survive doing it twice. So she was going to take advantage of any outlet she could get - she didn't even register the dummies as muggles, just people. The first year took a deep breath and focused her energy on one of the littler dummies and swished her wand in a triangular motion.

"Bombarda!" Okay, this was fun. Her eyes lit up as she watched the spell hit the toddler!Dummy's chest with a loud CRACK. Its chest crumpled as bits and pieces fell to the ground, but it didn't EXPLODE like she thought it was supposed to. She definitely needed a little more oomph, and so she turned to the deceased toddler!Dummy's dad and pictured Rosier. "Bombarda!"

ooc: I wasn't sure if we were allowed to have our spells hit, so I left the second open-ended.

That poor toddler. Poor poor baby toddler. That first one "hurt". Little Jenny screamed and wailed for her mummy, beginning for the pain to eeennnnddd.

The Snakette tried to focus on today’s topic instead. It was quite clear they’d have to be practicing on the now clothed dummies. At the sudden change of surroundings, she blinked rapidly. Her head turned this way and that, taking it all in. Despite the situation, Claudine was somewhat amused at how the dummies just slid themselves into the new surrounding. The clothing made them fight right in. Sort of.

She gave Heath an encouraging look before moving to a dummy at a food stall. With as much concentration as she could muster, she pointed her wand at the dummy she had chosen. “Bombarda,’’ came her firm, commanding tone while at the same time her wand traced out the movement Rosier had demonstrated.

Then they were suddenly somewhere else. They were out of the castle! What was going on!? Wait the dummies got all dressed up? Damn, they weren't really out were they?! Moose listened carefully to the instructions and turned his attention to the Dummies.

Of course Rosier was the real dummy. They were supposed to imagine these as Muggles, but Moose would instead look at them as Headmaster Rosier. Yes even the smaller looking ones in carriages. Those were just tiny immobile Rosiers. He found one dummy with a carriage, and with a triangular motion with his wand and the intent to make the bigger Rosier dummy BLOW UP, Moose spoke "Bombarda!" and sent a spell right it's way, though it was off target by just a bit!

Tadhg was lucky himself he wasn't tortured, but he was speaking the truth. He wished they would get overthrown or so, but he didn't see it happening.

They were doing what?! Did he hear him right, they were doing Bombaarda on dummies? Looking at the dummies he swallowed hard at some of them, some of them were kids and a mother with a baby. Okay... this was just cruel and mean, but what choice did he have? Looking at Curtis he gave him a nod in thanks, that was one he didn't have to do.

Getting his hand out of his Common Green Welsh holster he looked at the man dummy. With all the anger inside him, he looked at the dummy doing the triangular motion. " Bombarda!" As the dummy exploded he felt like he was going to be sick. Taking a quick glance at Dahlia Bubbles he bit his lip.

On the topic of thestrals, was he going to... no? Alright, fine, no thestrals today.

Bombarda was all well and good, straightforward stuff and a spell Nem already had down pat (though they tended to prefer more subtle stuff, with just a dash of inferno, and some of the recent, more interesting magic they'd learnt from the Big Man) but potentially problematic. Not to be paranoid or anything, but if some of these kids failed to engage their brains enough to see that Nem's answers could be part of a survival strategy, they might have made a couple of enemies already. Even if it wasn't Bombarda (these kids were so soft), it could be something else. Some other spell, or even a punch, or whatever.

But Nem wasn't going to dwell on that. They'd stay on guard, sure, they had their wand drawn for the activity already, they could take a punch and, as to the rest, they'd cross that bridge when they came to it. Right now no bridges. Just a promenade.

When they were given the go-ahead, Nem took a little wander to find a target, and to get away from the main body of the group. It didn't take long to find a good set-up - a table, with a cluster of seated dummies. That would do.

"Bombarda." Nem cast, voice assertive and decisive, aiming directly into the centre of their midst for maximum efficiency. They'd considered attempting a non-verbal - had been practicing that kind of thing - but initially deemed it more appropriate to do what they knew would work, rather than gamble on something that might have a very public lacklustre result.

Not that anything Nem did was at risk of not going exactly as they wanted it to. Obviously.

Oh, hello there young man. The table of dummies turned when Nem approached but the calm quickly turned to panic at the sight of the wand. They tried to running, screaming as they did but it was much too late and they were now gone.

He was unpleasantly confused at first, until he saw other students with seared words across their foreheads - LIAR. And then he was even more confused. Was that on his head too? A question that he had verbally expressed to no one and everyone at the same time. What had he lied about?? Nothing that he could remember recently, at least not intentionally.

And then people were losing their mouths (he didn't even know that was a thing that was possible!) and Kale! Morgan was horrified to witness a real life crucio on his mate, never mind him missing the one done on the second year at the feast. He had been a little too distracted at the time. Stunned and horrified, but what could he do really? Especially when that second year had a wand to her throat, the headmaster forcing them in line with the threats of student deaths.

Any other day, Morgan would be so pumped to practice the exploding spell in class. This wasn't exactly a normal day though, was it? He was a little shaken over the first half of class, and he didn't want to think of how it could get worse, but.... okay it was still the explosion spell and he wanted to make things blow up.

......but.... then the dummies were made to look like people. This was kind of gross and off-putting - even if he liked explosions. Morgan tried to put that out of his mind and remember that these were just dummies and not real people. Yeah! Just dummies! He could totally do this! And he did like blowing things up, so this would be totally cool. Sure, sure.

Looking towards a particularly large dummy, Morgan whipped his wand into the triangle formation - he'd done this before on different objects - and cast confidently, "Bombarda!"

It may have been large but that didn't stop it from begging. Clive begged alright, for all of 2 seconds before he was destroyed.

They had been warned. She was glad to be smart enough to listen to that warning and not cause trouble for herself.

When it came to the topic of their lesson, it did seem rather unfair to her that they had to hide their magic when Muggles got to roam around freely in the open. Wizards and witches in the past were even killed because they were magical, which was a fact that did not sit well with the first year.

But then there were certain things that her eleven year old mind couldn't wrap around. The only solution to the Muggle problem they were facing, according to the headmaster, was killing them all. That was ... a lot to take in. Nevertheless, his message was clear as crystal. As for her stance on that, well, the whole idea of killing someone made her feel a bit uneasy.

She was relieved though when the lesson shifted from discussion to practising magic. The blonde-haired girl was excited to finally put her wand to use. She was in awe when the room seemed to take them to another place. Even the moving dummies were impressive. Then it hit her. They had to blow the dummies up, dummies that looked real. If they were attacking her and wanted to harm her, she very likely would have jumped into this activity without hesitation to defend herself. This scenario, however, was different.

"Bombarda!" she shouted, moving her wand in a triangular motion like Headmaster Rosier had done. Nothing happened. She casted again. Nothing. Not even a spark. At this point, the first year was getting frustrated. "Bombarda!" she shouted again, more forcefully. This time a spark came from her wand, but that was all.

She stood there, her face slowly but surely turning red. She was making a fool of herself, which angered her. She wanted to succeed, even if it meant blowing up something so lifelike. Pull yourself together, Cornelia. They're just dummies They aren't real people.

Harnessing her anger and focusing it, she pointed her wand at an adult-sized dummy that was carrying a smaller dummy. She could feel something bubbling within her. "BOMBARDA!"

Yikes yikes yikes, Rebecca barely had time to turn her body to save little Ethan. She screamed her plea for mercy but it obviously did no good considering she and the little guy were now nothing.
