No way was she going along with THIS nonsense. There was a reason she had lied on her form, and it wasn't because she thought she could get away with it. The headmaster knew full well that she was an outspoken muggle supporter. And since her chances of being subtle were dashed with this new tattoo, she decided to be honest here. "But speaking frankly, sir, your opinion is stupid, and since I'm being especially honest today, there is nothing wrong with muggles, the problem is you. I just thought I'd tell you the truth today." She pointed at her forehead. "I'm very sorry, sir, for not telling you how great I think muggles are. Or that I'm proud to be a muggle-born." Ash relaxed, waiting for the inevitable crucio curse. THis was going to be bad. At least it would show some of the kids here that this wasn't a joke, and hopefully they wouldn't follow in her footsteps.

....He ignored the girl for now. This answer was the sort that had him seeing red. For her safety, he shifted his gaze to the next student. This would be addressed in a moment.

When the pain subsided, Quinn stayed kneeling, the flow of tears steadily streaming. He didn't have the willpower to get up. He didn't even realize he had lied, he was just confused! And scared! He could hear the man talking from the floor. About Muggles. It was like the man was far away, though. Quinn was dissociating, and he could faintly feel the resistance to the man's words in his head, but right now he couldn't handle being... here. So his mind took him elsewhere.

The boy withering on the ground was ignored for the same reason. This trend was caring over from the previous term; him asking questions and some thinking they were exempt from answering. He would address this in a moment.

"My apologies, Headmaster. I didn't realize you had the qualifications and educational background to qualify for the title. I won't make that mistake again." Still completely polite, no sneer in sight, because honestly there was no way to express how utterly disgusted she felt with just a word or a glance or a sneeeeeer. She did sink down to press a handkerchief against the forehead of the first year cringing on the ground near her (Quinn).

She couldn't help him all, but she could help this one. And Kizzy would forgive her for not rushing to her side. "It's okay, bud. I have something in the Gryffindor dorm that will make this feel better. Just be... brave, I guess."

His jaw set as yet another student went without answering his question. They were testing him today, this was clear and they would not like the results.

A bunch of Gryffindors.

Shocking.

And the consequences.

Who could have expected this. Golly gee whizz.

So yes. Nem only stood there through all of it, impassive, unmoved. Emotional detachment as a response to trauma? Keeping themselves to themselves and minding their own business in order to stay out of trouble? Cool indifference because of who they were as a person? Maybe they were even bewitched. They certainly weren't letting on.

The first move Nem made was in response to the question. They raised a hand, and spoke clearly on their turn. "It was because of them we were made to live in hiding, sir. Persecution of the magical community, witch trials. They live out in the open, and we were forced to hide, it was even our Ministry who made us do it, still try to make us, though we're the ones with the power and could put ourselves at the top. Muggles are weak. Boring. Pointless. The whole system needs subverting."

Whether they truly meant that, or whether it was part of some kind of strategy, was on a strictly need-to-know basis, and only one other person in this room strictly needed to know. Nem gave not outward sign that they'd said anything untoward, in terms of general sentiment; judging by their general demeanour they might have just listed the ways in which a werewolf differs from a wolf.

Bless, the saving grace in this class. Perhaps the only student with any sort of sense and the man could scarcely appreciate him because the others had rubbed his patience raw.

He gave a firm nod. "Correct. A brilliant and well thought out response. Take 10 points." Take 10 for not giving him an instant headache, for understanding the agenda, for not being a little snot.

Should she be ashamed? Because she wasn't. She was ANGRY. In all capital letters, just like that. So instead of learning to defend herself, she was to stand here and be bullied by an elderly man with a god complex? Her whole body shook. He'd cast some nasty, mean spell on that one boy, and multiple students were missing their mouths - and Eden just knew she'd be on the receiving end of his curses again soon no matter what she did. AND HE MADE QUINN CRY AGAIN WHICH SHE REALLY COULD NOT STAND.

"I'm assuming YOU don't tolerate muggles because you cling to some kind of generationally INBRED idea of "pureblood supremacy" that made your ancestors feel like gods hundreds of years ago before muggles had so much as a LIGHTBULB." Bring on the pain. "And I'm proud of my blood AND my magic, too." She looked at Ash.

Though a vein was beginning to stick out at his forehead, he also ignored this one. It was for his sanity in the moment, and her safety.

At least he was sharing this moment with his girlfriend.

Defeated for now, he turned to look at the horrible man again as he spoke. His question only making Aries feel sick in the stomach. But he could say nothing.

In fact, she'd thrown both hands over her own mouth, partially to make sure it was still there and partially to cover the look of shock and horror she was now making. There were kids with no mouths. She didn't like Kinsay James and agreed that she spoke incessantly most of the time, but even she did not deserve that. Could that be undone?! What kind of spell was that?! Couldn't he have just... silencio'd them or something?! Even she was guilty of casting silencio on first years before, but this... this was the stuff of NIGHTMARES.

Plus, the LIARS! So many kids all had big ugly pimples on their foreheads spelling out the word LIAR now. How atrocious! How were they going to get those off?! Bernie just didn't KNOW what to do. She didn't even know the new Transfiguration professor's name!!!!! HOW COULD SHE HELP??!??!

She kept her hands over her mouth and sank into a half-squat/half-seated position on the floor. UM. NO, she was not answering that question. Because, all things considered, less than five years ago, Bernie had been a Muggle herself. She didn't understand what was wrong with that??? It was kind of... up to fate, right? To decide if you were a wizard or Muggle?

She didn't understand the question, so much as she'd written on her form, she wouldn't respond to it. She would, however, listen to everyone else, her blue eyes quite quite wide.

....wow, Nem. Bernadette blinked a few more times at that response, though her eyes were opened in a different way now.

Silent, that would change by the next response. He would see to that personally. To her credit, despite a mudblood, she did not offer an irritating and disrespectful response but that was as far as that went.

Kinsay and Emmerson, and those two first years she had met on the train! Frankly, it made her afraid to say anything at all.

She shuddered as the man started the lesson and asked a question that was...well, so biased. To her, it was like asking why the sky was green when...the sky was clearly not green. The sky was blue.

Still, she started to raise her hand. Ohhh, did she have an answer. Muggles had invented robots. Wizards didn't have robots. Her hand was barely higher than her shoulder, though, when she heard one of the other students give a scary answer and thought maybe she should not draw attention to herself.

She put her hand back down.

A brow rose when the girl's hand did, rising higher still when she put it back down. Perhaps she had heard some of the answers of her peers and thought better of earning herself his ire.

"That is still this class, isn't it?" Or did their so-called agenda alter that?

Either way, her grandparents were muggle and well regarded and absolutely brilliant. They were doctors and they saved her aunt's life when she was a kid and she would absolutely not say anything against them. She had too much pride in her family for that.

As for the consequences, she'd take whatever they threw at her. She hated to pull the family card, but her parents would definitely do something about anyone that hurt her (or worse).

Besides, the WORST thing had already happened -- her Outstanding NEWT scores were in danger and her entire future was already in the balance. Of course, she promised she wouldn't be so dramatic about her grades again, so she'd keep those thoughts to herself.

Yet another that was testing his patience. Did she not understand a takeover? Was a change in doctrine above her level of intellect? That was possible given she bothered to voice the opinion at all. Surely she knew she would be ignored. He did not answer to children.

A little kid was even crying here. Sorry kid, but tears won't help you. Curtis thought. He couldn't help thinking, why didn't he just off the ones that disobeyed. Did he want to invoke fear? Why start off small like this? Not that anyone should die, but this form of branding and removing mouths is weird. Just weird. This just incited others to band together against them later on. There were ways people could help and Curtis had his own way... Assuming he felt like helping. "What's wrong is that Muggles can't do magic. Can it get any worse than that?" He was going to keep it simple. He personally couldn't imagine a life without magic and didn't want it any other way.

"That is a part of it, yes. Well done, Fuller." Mostly for having enough common sense to offer a response rather than play the dare game with the man who cared little for their well-being. The boy had truly matured.

There was some pain that was so intense, so extreme that your brain just POPPED into the other room. As if it decided to gently remove itself from the current onslaught on trauma and horror.

Other things he observed as he W A I L E D in pain on the floor, writhing like his circuitry had malfunctioned, was that he was PROBS gonna be unconscious again. Soon. Second time in as many days. That had to be a record.

Oh. Hold on. The intensity of the pain was subsiding enough that he could hear his screams again. Cool. ‘Sup, classmates?

He lay on the floor, twitching from the aftershocks of agony, for a good while. Through the first question at least. Excuse the body, pls. It was gonna take a nap right here.

Surely he would resume regular learning as soon as he was able.

He was still a halfblood regardless but did how big that half was matter to these people? Why had he never thought about this before? He spent a lot of time with muggles, compared to most people, because of the non-magical shows he had been in, but he had never thought about it. Even though the boys that had attacked him when he was (much) smaller had been muggles, it hadn't been a factor in how he processed it. They hadn't attacked him because they were muggles, they had attacked him.... for other reasons. The newspaper cuttings he privately collected about similar crimes, he hadn't really considered were mostly from muggle publications but it was true that most of those attacks were muggle perpetrators. Did that mean anything? He hadn't ever thought so.

Speaking of attacked, Flynn flinched every time someone got hit with something, but tried his best not to look, breathing shallowly and keeping his eyes fixed warily on Rosier instead. It didn't inspire him to speak up, he wasn't in any position to help anyone. He had to fight to keep associated memories from resurfacing, though even the worst spell from a wand was less triggering than what those (muggle) boys had managed toward his younger self with their feet and fists and cruel words.

So really, all he could do was focus on the questions, as shocking as they were, and answer honestly, hand going up with some slight wavering. " I-I don't know, sir, nobody has ever told me....... but maybe...... maybe its because since they don't have wands, they have to find other ways to be cruel and hurt people. Ways that you can't defend against if you're weak or young or small. " His voice tapered off to a whisper. Anyone that hurt others was bad in Flynn's eyes, like this interloper who had disguised himself as Kale's dad, but maybe there were a higher percentage of people like that in muggle society?

"That does have something to do with it, yes. Good thinking." By now his tone was dry, his patience having been run down by the boy's peers. He had seriously had enough of this lot.

Someone was yelling in much sharper pain than those he could focus on. It almost sounded like they were dying. Rosier had clearly done something to a few of them. Some worse than others.

Moose took to one knee still holding his forehead trying to fight off the searing pain. Moose hated it. He gritted his teeth as gritting his teeth was what Moose knew how to best to hold off any anger, or in this case any form of emotion at all.

L I A R. He saw some others with the word Liar on their foreheads if they weren't holding them in pain same as he was. Dammit dammit dammit...
Dammit. All he wanted was to keep his parents safe. His eyes teared up as he attempted to stand his cheeks were stained in salty liquids.

He didn't bother answering him. His question was the worst possible question you could ask Moose. There was real anger and hate in his eyes all directed at him not taking his glare off the Headmaster. Unblinking as his teeth gritted to hold back the anger and now also the pain.

Another who thought questions were optional. He would address this momentarily--y'know, when he was done being tried by the class.

A bit of anger boiled inside of her, and if she knew a spell or two, she'd cast it, even though she doubted she'd do much good.

She turned away just in time to see a squint in her direction. It made her feel like she'd placed on a slide under a microscope, and the man was trying to figure her out. She hadn't realized she'd been holding her breath, but after he said good morning and didn't cast a jolt if searing pain through her, she started breathing once again.

But what had just happened to Kinsay James?! Was her...mouth gone?! They were all going to die before this was over, weren't they? She was panicking again, and she knew it, but could she be blamed?! She tried to block out whatever else happened after that. She couldn't stand to see anything else be done. She jumped and gave him her attention again once the doors slammed shut.

Delilah had no idea what to say to the first question. First of all, she'd literally just learned what the word muggle meant. She'd asked somebody in the common room after the feast was over. She squirmed in her seat a second time. She had no idea what to say, and if she did, she didn't want to speak up at all.

'Ignore and You Shall Be Ignored, Too' was her new motto.

Ignoring was the exact wrong thing to do. Once again the Headmaster squinted at the girl, though for an entirely different reason. This children were really trying him today, huh?

Of course that wasn’t actually true but to an eleven year old many things she understood to be true were far from the truth.

But Delaney knew better than to voice these thoughts. She decided for now it might just be best to keep her mouth shut.

And Minjae took a deep calming breath as his wand hand began to twitch, eager to reach for it but again he didn't. Perhaps it was the fact that he was seventeen years old and practically an adult now that he didn't dare go against him. That his brain knew about the consequences far faster than those younger.

At the first set of questions, Minjae tried to look impassive as he began to humiliate his heritage side. But the words still hurt. He was just not going to give the "Headmaster" the pleasure that his words were getting to him. Minjae did feel a sense of pride when Ash dared to call the man out but it also elevated his anxious state he was still trying to mask.

A mask that broke when Nemesis spoke and his right hand that had been twitching earlier was now fully clenched. Every part in him told him to walk over and punch them square in the face for talking like that about muggles and therefore his parents as well. Minjae had already taken one step but then stopped and turned back around to face the front.

He was not going to be an example of how bad "muggles" could be.

As for the question, the Hufflepuff didn't bother to answer.

But the question Scary Headmaster asked them was what made him want to disappear even more than he had already wanted to. Muggles weren't a stain on society. His own granda was a muggle and he gave the BEST hugs and made him tea when he was sick and mammy had to go to work and they sometimes watched the hurling together and and and...he would keep quiet about all of those things and would definitely not be like the other kids shouting answers back. Again.

Only this time instead of looking dead he looked like he wished he were so. Just like the night before when Adam Luck had been splayed out on the floor and looking like a worm through into a frying pan, Kale now writhed and screamed in agony. And once again...Atlas could not look away. He could only stare, frozen in time and space, while his body was seized and flooded with crippling fear...and then so were his trousers.

Again.

Warm moisture spreading around and down his leg, it was only the tip of the iceberg for the horror of the lesson as he felt like something had suddenly slapped him across the face. Unaware of what the effect was, his own eyes finally tore away from the fallen older lion (who he hoped he had not seen die...again) and found those of his brother's...and before he could even attempt to speak he saw that Aries had no mouth. Not just his brother...but others...and not just mouths removed, but brandings across their foreheads.

He wanted to scream. But he couldn't.

And Aries was holding out in not telling him about having a girlfriend already and he was going to be proper cross when he did learn!

He saw his new friend, Quinn, crying and Atlas felt a rage boiling up inside him. But also...he was too much of a coward still to act on such impulses, so he stuck close to his brother who...well...since he couldn't TELL him what had happened...maybe he could SMELL it at the very least.

Aries needed to tell HIM what to do this time, because Atlas was out of ideas.

And also...out of words. Not that he wanted to answer this question anyway. In fact, he shut his eyes tight as a preemptive measure to NOT see how Rosier reacted to some of the responses. He...he couldn't handle seeing another Cruciatus Cruse.

...nor could his wardrobe. He was out of trousers.

Disgusting.

Lucien flicked a wand to clean the boy up and get the area dry. He would not spend the morning in a room full of pee. "That will be the last time you do that in my classroom." He warned darkly. The only warning Flamsteed would be getting.

Except now Kizzy couldn't speak at her. Having been looking in her bestfriend's direction, she watched in abject horror as Kinsay James lost her mouth. There was no time to react. Her own mouth began to feel awful funny and by the time she reached a hand up IT WAS GONE.

Hooolllyyyyyy kneazle. Oh Merlin, oh Merlin, oh Merlin.

Breeeeaaaatheeeeee.

The world as she knew it was absolutely falling into chaos and her classmates weren't making it any better by outright CHALLENGING the man who obviously didn't like them. WHY WERE THEY TRYING TO MAKE LIFE HARD FOR EVERYONE ELSE????

She looked about herself helplessly. Unable to talk, she couldn't respond but she was doing her VERY BEST to keep any defiance out of her eyes, lest she be considered in cahoots with Ashley Fox, the Ravenclaw with the perpetual death wish.

Mirror his thoughts regarding James, a silent Cambridge was also a good Cambridge. Lucien was tempted to leave her this way.

Clearly the mean angry man thought so. The events from last night no longer seemed so terrible as chaos already ensued around her. Not even two minutes into the lesson an- and..

Lia wanted to cry herself as she looked around. Some of her peers had the word LIAR on their foreheads in big letters and were on their knees crying in pain. Others had no mouths. No. MOUTHS! And the use of an Unforgiveable. On a student! This man wasn't a Headmaster, impostor or not. He was a MONSTER! As much as she wanted to move to comfort her housemates and the others her own fear kept her in place.

Why was this being allowed to happen? What had any of them done that was so wrong? Seeing all of this around her made it difficult to focus let alone answer any questions.

More silence. Brilliant. He couldn't wait to address this issue. It would not continue if he had anything to say about it.

Even though she was relieved everything went smoothly, at least on Curtis’ end, she reminded herself that the lesson had a long way to go; there was plenty of time for Curtis-sass. The fifth year gave him a small, tense smile. Tense because there was a certain amount of dread that came with this lesson since Rosier was the one teaching. Recognising the little guy from the Post Office {Quinn}, she sent him a nod. There would have actually been a proper greeting but hey. They weren’t allowed to speak unnecessarily. As for the outbursts in Kinsay’s defense? Well, Claudine had nothing against the girl and since this situation did not involve her, she did what she did best and kept her mouth shut. Shoe throwing incidents? There would be no involvement from her. Heath though… Claudine hated to see him looking that way, and she wanted to reach out to squeeze his hand in comfort. She might have had it not been for Rosier. Instead, she settled for giving him a warm smile usually reserved for him. Oh, hello there, Lilith. Claudine gave her a quick wiggle of the fingers which was supposed to be a wave.

Now that things had gotten started, the girl’s eyes grew wide with horror as she watched all the happenings. She was appalled to see the word ‘Liar’ on some of her classmates’ foreheads, and she instantly had the suspicion that the word would be difficult to remove, if it could be removed at all. But worst? It was the mouths of others disappearing. Terror welled up in her and without realising it, she moved closer to Heath. She eyes poor Quinn on the ground in concern but at least he was taken care of.

The question was barely heard but when answers started to pore in, she got the gist of it. Truthfully, she hadn’t cared much about Muggles before. There were no hard feelings against them, they simply existed in another world to her. But since dating Heath, she had interacted a lot more with Muggles and well… they were great people. Claudine knew that not all Muggles were this way but still… how was it their fault if they were born without magical abilities? Surprisingly, she actually found her voice to speak up. “What Curtis said. That’s all that’s wrong.” A disgusted look was tossed at Nem. Was that even a genuine answer or were they not looking to get on Rosier’s bad side?

"That is not all that is wrong. Surely you are capable of deeper thought than that." Or perhaps she wasn't. Disappointing for a pureblood.

She had to look away from that last one. She had never seen the Crucio curse on a real person before, and it was incredibly difficult to watch.

And then there was the matter of whether or not she was going to answer Rosier's question. Avalon didn't hate Muggles at all. Merlin, her grandparents were Muggles, and they were lovely people. Some of her best friends were Muggleborn. And there are so many Muggles that were smart and kind. She never understood the elitist attitude that so many wizards adopted.

Avalon found herself halfheartedly wishing that she had been hit with that mouth-disappearing curse like Kinsay. Then she'd at least have an excuse not to answer. But if she did answer, she'd have to come up with some lie about why she hated Muggles, and she didn't want her classmates thinking she was siding with the Neo-Alliance. Then again, not answering would surely result in some sort of punishment. This man was not playing around. The "liar" etchings (which Avalon figured would scar for quite a long time) said as much.

One thing was certain: she wasn't stupid enough to talk back to the new headmaster like so many of her foolish classmates were doing. Why did so many of her classmates have a death wish?

All these thoughts raced through her mind as she weighed her options. A part of her wondered if she should just try to go along with it as much as possible to get on the Neo-Alliance's good side. Then, she could get information about them and their plans and try to spot weaknesses in them. A double agent, of sorts. But doing that would require betraying her friends. She wasn't sure if she was ready to do that. At least not yet.

So for now, the Ravenclaw remained quiet, although she had a sinking feeling that her silence would result in some sort of torture.

Quiet was not good. Quiet got her a glare. As a returning student, she should know how he felt about unanswered questions. He expected better.

Amabel was just quietly sitting and listening to the guess Headmaster would be safest to call him as. which is basically the route she is going to go stay out of any trouble she can even if it means answering a question.

Though....seemingly everyone didn't want to be smart and was giving the answer Headmaster did not want to hear. This won't end well. Does everyone want what happened to that Gryffindor to happen to them??? It also seemed like Headmaster enjoyed it so good luck everyone. Semed her answer was said by that older slytherin..which was simple and to the point. With her hand raised guess she should answer.

"Can't do any magic like said"

And yeah probably the last thing Amabel will say in the class since he was probably going to share why they should not be tolerated and why they are wrong bad etc.

He nodded, openly unimpressed. "Yes, no magic. That isn't all." But at least the girl answered without the open invitation to kill her tacked on.

Then Nem said something that made her blood boil. Say what about muggles? She wasn’t sure if her hands trembled due to fear or anger. Maybe that was their disguise. To comply with this man.

Did she have a choice to respond? She could just stand here and stare daggers at Rosier. Was that a choice? She didn’t think so. “Muggles are able to get things done without magic. They are able to expand and live freely without having to hide.” An after thought came. A genuine one. Lilith wondered if Rosier would be able to answer it. “I have a genuine question, Sir,” she started, just so he knew she wasn’t going to mock him or anything like that. “Who came first, the muggle or the wizard?”

Meep.

Ignored.

As with her classmates, he chose not to let his pressure rise in response to her. He would handle them all shortly.

She held her breath, relieved she hadn't lied in her form, even though she hadn't explicitly told they entire truth. She hadn't lied either, at least, so she was spared that horrible pain and shame.

As Cecelia herself yelled, Catherine's eyes widened, but she noticed the blonde had covered her mouth, not her forehead. She realised she had yelled because of Trent, who was being tortured. Merlin, that was some horrible screaming. No wonder it was considered a Unforgivable Curse... She couldn't help but watch.

Their 'new' professor then continue to address them. Catherine kept taking deep, slow breaths to try and keep as calm as she could, but she couldn't bring herself to look directly at him anymore, especially when he started asking his first questions. After all this time, the Wizarding world had gone back to this? And those kids being so utterly, utterly stupid giving those defiant answers! Merlin, did they not know what was about to happen to them if they continued that?? She wished they would shut up for their own good.

There were tears in the Ravenclaw's eyes by the time Cecelia reached for her hand, and she squeezed it tight without taking her eyes off the Gryffindor boy, who was still lying on the floor. Although she felt bad for him, she wasn't going to let Cecelia go to his rescue if she tried, lest the blonde end up in the same state.

Honestly, Catherine never considered Muggles bad. Unfortunate, yes, because they had to live without magic and all its usefulness, but not bad. She herself had Muggle acquaintances from her primary school and they were alright, although she was pretty indifferent about most of them. If she was the type to speak and provide answers, she would've gone along the lines of that one kid who said that what was wrong with Muggles was the fact they couldn't do magic. Because, in a way, that was true, hence their being unfortunate in the first place. But Catherine, as usual once again, remained quiet. The tears had disappeared from her eyes already, but she kept her gaze on the floor.

While he was used to her silence, at the moment it only aided his aggravation. These children had worn him thin with their defiance and silence and the lesson has only barely begun.

Which wasn't the same as telling the whole truth. Then the question--what in the world?!? How were they going to answer that without getting into to trouble or looking like a total git. And not answering at all would probably make him mad. She tried to think of something that was true that she could say, then it hit her, and she raised her hand.

"Well, sir, even though they lack magic, there are a lot more Muggles than there are wizards, so they might pose a threat to us." There, that was true, and respectful--and he wouldn't like the word 'threat' at all.

But then the Not!Headmaster's words to her jolted her from her frozen state enough to mumble a quiet, "Yes, sir," and then her feet took her to the nearest spot among the rest of the students to stand, putting her wand away for now.

Even if she had been a little bit tired before, she was wide awake now.

It was then she also finally noticed the words on some of her classmates' foreheads and a few like Kinsay and Emmerson who...whose mouths were just gone. What...?

How long was it going to be like this? These horrible people treating them like this and spewing horrible things about Muggles like the Not!Headmaster was doing right now... They would be defeated and Hogwarts would be rescued soon, right?

Ivy wasn't particularly confident in that thought, but for now she wanted to cling to that hope, however small it was. Especially with how her stomach was tying itself into knots again when Ashley and Eden and a few others were recklessly rising to the bait.

But what was the point? Arguing with him accomplished nothing right now. He didn't actually care about them or their thoughts.

So Ivy wasn't going to dignify his words or his questions with a response. Muggles were not a stain and there was nothing wrong with them. They weren't bad just because they couldn't do magic.

And the ones that were saying bad things about them... She hoped it was just because they were trying to tell him what he wanted to hear and try to move the class along, not because they actually thought those things...

Yep, definitely addressing the silence. At this point, it was an absolute must.

Any other time, he might’ve felt relieved that he decided not to lie on his own form - a visible and most likely permanent mark like that would’ve put an end to his acting career for sure - but he couldn’t think of himself now. He was too distracted by the fact that there were a few students with no mouths, and Rosier Crucio’ed a student! He actually tortured a student!

Heath flinched, dropping his gaze. Unlike their new headmaster, he didn’t like seeing others in pain. If he forced himself to watch Kale on the floor, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t burst into tears, and that could not happen! He’d met enough bullies in his life to know that the first rule of dealing with one was to never let them see you break. He stood frozen in place, his jaw tightly clenched against any sound that threatened to escape. His arms were folded across his chest because that was the only thing stopping him from grabbing Claudine’s hand right now!

He was so focused on keeping up a (mostly) impassive facade that he almost didn’t hear the question, and Merlin, how he wished he hadn’t! He didn’t want to answer that! Doing so would be betraying his dad and grandparents who took care of him and accepted him the wizarding side of the family did not, but… What would happen to him if he didn’t? Somehow he suspected silence on this question would earn worse than an essay as punishment. What if Rosier tortured him too? What if he lost all patience entirely and started killing students next? Or worse, what if he decided to punish him by doing either of those things to Claudine? Surely his family would understand. They’d want him to do what he had to do to survive, right?

Then another thought occurred to Heath. Would that liar mark also appear on anyone who Rosier suspected didn’t believe what they were saying? Just in case, he’d better make his answer convincing! He thought back to the muggle children who bullied him in primary school, of the teachers who allowed it to happen without so much as batting an eye, and only when his anger had built did he raise his hand. “Historically, there are examples of muggles subjugating wizard children to the point that they’re too afraid to use magic, sometimes with catastrophic results. Ariana Dumbledore, Credence Barebone, Harry Potter - all examples of wizard children abused by muggles!”

He blinked as he finished speaking, shocked by the edge in his own voice. Had he really just said that out loud?

"Exactly. They are clearly a danger to our kind." And it was good of Heath to bring that up. "5 points."

"Wow." The man swore without reservation. He moved a hand through his smooth, well groomed hair. For a moment he squeezed his eyes shut, trying to gather his self control as best he could.

"This isn't working. I've tried--Merlin knows I have." His tone was strained, betraying the self control he was working so hard to maintain. With much determination, he walked over to Fox. The man grabbed the Second Year roughly by the hair, yanking her head back and placing the tip of his wand beneath her chin. He pressed it into the skin by her neck, keeping the fistful of hair he'd grabbed firmly in place.

"I have reasoned with you. I have explained the situation. I have explained this is not a joke. Nothing is working, so we'll do this my way. You will speak to me with respect--or at the very least like you have some desire to live. You will answer when I ask you questions. I am not talking to the walls. You will stop to think. You're supposedly smart children, you must surely realise the answers I'm looking for, yet you continue to test my patience. It's time you all started acting like you had some bloody sense--as some of your classmates are already doing. Dig deep and find the answer to my next question or I'm sending Fox on a one way trip to the after life, painfully. THIS is how we will move forward. If you will not consider your own well being, perhaps you will care more for that of your peers. You have used up all your chances and I will tolerate no more of your nonsense."

These children, thinking they could talk to him anyhow they felt. Stupid, was he? Who did they think they were. Who did they think HE was? He should kill her anyway.

"There footprint/mark on the world is equally abhorrent." Still on the topic of muggles. " It has no place in wizarding society. How do we take care of this problem? THINK and ANSWER. If you don't have a mouth, write your answer on parchment for me to see but everyone will respond."

Enough was enough. HE was in charge and if they would not listen to words, he would start taking proper action. The man's hand tightened further as he looked around at the lot of them, patiently waiting for their answers--he expected one from Fox as well if she knew what was good for her.

OOC: Moving on to the second question and juuuuust a reminder guys...this is....the leader of a cult. The man who has said several times that these children are disposable. Realistically, he would have offed several of them already. I don't understand where their self preservation has gone But seriously guys, this is fair warning, as Lucien has given plenty. He WON'T tolerate any and every sort of talking to and I believe he's said it enough. Anymore and he starts feeling like a joke or a hollow threat. Some of your kids are seriously poking the bear. I'll be moving us to the activity in 24-28 hrs.
