The funny thing was, he had just done an inventory of their supplies a few months ago and hadn’t noticed a major depletion of any of the ingredients. So why was there a discrepancy now? He wondered for a moment if he should even be telling Laurel about this. Might it get him in trouble? No, the woman was good at keeping a secret, had to be in their line of work. Right? He put another bottle of something that looked like it might still be moving away on the shelf. Only the bottle never made it on the shelf, because he turned back to Laurel. Why was she in the Love Chamber? She never came here. Plus, hadn’t she been on maternity leave? He specifically remembered her being out for baby-leave because he had had to go home and ask Zita to explain what Laurel had meant by being in a ‘blessed conditition.’ He turned towards her, still holding the bottle of moving things. ”Vhen did you get back?”

Laurel kept quiet and waited patiently, restraining herself from making any comments as Adam kept cursing at things around him like his pen that she from observation gathered wasn’t writing down what he wanted, and the general state of the storage. And she was very worried about her findings. Eyebrows going up in surprise she asked "Really? There are supplies missing? How odd, there are smashed orbs and missing prophecies in the hall too." What was going on? Had mysteries had a break in during the holidays? Taking a careful step back from the bottle of something floating around and Adam Laurel said. "I got back from maternity leave this morning. Good thing too, it seems."

Hearing a voice she didn’t exactly place, but probably belonged to a new hire to the department Laurel called out. "We are in the storage room at the back of the chamber."
