Quiet words were whispered back and forth between Stefan and herself as they seemed to very quickly gravite towards the end of the table. With a small smile on her face and a glance at Stefan it was decided wordlessly. For all intent and purposes they had found their 'baby' for the next few months.
Reaching across the table, she grabbed the bag full of baby supplies that was behind the fake-baby they choose. "Can you hold this for now?" She passed the bag to Stefan so that she could carefully pick up the fake-baby, cradling it in her arms against her chest.
"Is there anything else we need to do, professor? Anything that we should know?" Rylee asked walking back to Schmoe. "Excellent," Finneas smiled. "I just need you to fill out these forms and then you'll be all set," he pushed the piece of parchment across his desk so that she could reach to sign off. Quote:

Signing his name at the end of the form felt scarily definitive. Handing the form back to Professor Schome he asked "So what do we do now?" Finneas watched as the pair filled out their form, only looking back up when Cole asked his question. "Yes it will," he nodded. "And the exciting part of the assignment is finding out how to manage it!" Crying homework was so fun!! Finneas smiled in thanks as they handed in their form, using it to sign off on their certificate, which he then held out for them to take. "You are set to go."

If Flynn hadn't been excited already, Yoyo's excitement would have rubbed off on him, as it was it just amplified even more.

He closed his eyes and did exactly that, letting his hand move about and then hover over one of the baby dolls. Twin number one? He opened his eyes. " Here's our first born!" Finneas watched as the pair worked their way around the tables to pick their baby. Did he think twins were a good idea? Maybe not so much. BUT who was he to limit their capacity. The POTENTIAL.
He gave an awkward thumbs up as Yoyo expressed her enthusiasm, but otherwise waited patiently for the pair to return with their babies in hand. SPOILER!!: Ewan and Chloe Quote:

The second year took a few minutes, just staring at the paper, and then she got it. It was perfect! It said EVERYTHING she wanted it to say about her child!

She handed the form back to her Professor and offered him a smile.
There were some people Finneas worried about when it came to this assignment. Cecelia was not one of them. He gave her a smile as he read over her paperwork and used it to fill out a certificate for her. "Thank you Ms. Summers," he exchanged her forms for the certificate before giving her an awkward smile. "You're all set."

This was not said so much in a sarcastic kind of way, more like... defeated and deadpan. Not that it really mattered either way, as Schmoe hardly seemed the sort to pick up on either tone, which was something Kaiser found himself oddly envious of. What he wouldn't give to be totally oblivious to tone and undertone from time to time. It was the only situation in which he agreed that ignorance would indeed be bliss.
"Thank you, sir," Kaiser said, taking the certificate and tucking it, with some difficulty due to needing to momentarily juggle the doll, in his bag. Then, after hoisting the baby bag and switching the fake baby to the other arm, he took his leave.
The second he was out of the door, it began to cry.
This was going to be... a very long assignment. It really was wonderful, wasn't it? The gift of human life.
"No, thank you, Kaiser," he gave the Slytherin a salute as he made way out of the room.

Yeah, she realized that probably wasn’t very Ravenclaw of her. Oooopps? Finneas blinked at her as he sat in silence for a few beats more than necessary. "Truly!" he was just wondering. It would’ve been nice to co-parent with someone, but the only person Heath knew who might be willing was his sister and that would be too weird! It was okay, though; he could play a single dad. He even came up with a backstory for what happened to the “baby’s” mum. If anyone asked, the mother died tragically, leaving him to raise the “baby” on his own. He’d been so busy planning everything out that he almost forgot the most important thing: actually signing up to get a baby.
Heath rushed into the muggle studies classroom, looking every bit the part of a harried new dad. He ran a hand through his long dark hair as his eyes darted nervously from the professor to the dolls left on the table. Which baby was going to be his? Did he get to pick or would he be randomly assigned one? Not that it mattered… he’d be a good dad to any baby he got. Still in character, he approached Professor Schmoe’s desk. “My baby… where’s my baby?” he asked, wearing a concerned expression. He may or may not have given the professor a quick wink, just in case it wasn’t obvious he was acting. Finneas blinked a little bit as Heath made his entry. He was perplexed by the boy's show of.... frantic fatherhood? "Er, on the back tables, Mr. Heath!" Yes. This was Finneas' way of playing along.
And once Heath picked one out, they could get to the paperwork and REAL fatherhood.
