Looking slightly windswept (which didn't help a great deal with the messy hair situation) and somehow even more haggard than usual, Kaiser entered Greenhouse Five for the afternoon's Herbology lesson. There was Professor Rainwater up at the front of the room, but Kaiser only nodded very slightly and looked past him to the instructions on the whiteboard, hardly even feeling guilty about not giving a verbal greeting. It was just the new normal; he barely ever wanted to talk, and his voice was starting to sound strange when he did speak, from how little he now used it.
Having read the instructions, Kaiser stowed everything bar what he needed safely out of the way, and then went to the boxes.
About which, he had not a single clue. Herbology - like most subjects - was not Kaiser's forte. Luckily(?), his mind was far too preoccupied with other things, so he also wasn't worried about getting this right. If there was a right answer, of course; could you safely identify a poisonous plant without actually seeing it? Maybe he could have made that point, but also... no thank you. He ultimately had no qualms about simply picking the characteristic he liked best and immediately going to stand in front of that box, without dithering.
Blue box. Thorns. Kaiser didn't even notice a certain other person who was already over here. Which was to say that he did notice him, but... well. Whether he was too tired to handle thinking about all that, or if it was just physically impossible for his brain to process everything that was trying to storm its way into his head, Kaiser felt strangely calm and empty about the situation. With everything he had to think about, a partial shutdown was actually sort of welcome.
