Why was he here again? Oh right…someone had dared him to do this. And, well, if he were honest he could use the money. Wait – this was a paid position right? Granted he had to, you know, actually get picked for the position, but still….it was paid right?
Someone at the door handed him a paper as he walked into the room and he took it without looking too closely at it. ”Howdy!” he said loudly waving the hand which was holding the paper. It flapped a bit. Kalen knew absolutely NOBODY here, he realized as he sat down on a chair in the back of the room. It didn’t surprise him, because he knew absolutely nobody in Britain. No- that wasn’t true. He knew one person. His eyes got a bit moony looking as he thought of the Chaser-girl he had spent the afternoon bowling with. He allowed himself a moment to be mooney about Anna, but then shook his head and forced himself to focus. If he was going to do this (dare or not), he was going to do it as well as he could.
So what was up with this paper in his hand? He cleared his throat and decided he should probably look it over while he waited for instructions, or his name to be called, or for a niffler to pop up and pilfer everyone’s belongs. Hey, it could happen. Weirder things had happened to him before.
