That's all he asked. That's all Trent asked too, hopefully because Finneas liked to get into bed by 11 PM latest.

He did put a pause on thoughts of sleep, however, when Teddy walked over. Hm? He looked at the boy with beady eyes (okay, look, his eyes were always beady that's just how things were). "Hello, Teddy?" He wasn't sure whether or not he ought to be concerned. But he was always a little concerned. Especially right now on his first night as Head of House. Had something already gone wrong? .... Aside from.... Y'know. The obvious disarray.

He did then pick up on the gesture (a miracle!) and leaned in to listen to the second year. Schmoe nodded his head humming at appropriate times and smiling all the while in that strange way he did when he was proud. "I errr think that's a brilliant idea, Teddy," an excellent idea, really. Though Finneas preferred cleaning without the use of magic as it somehow felt more thorough. If others wanted to use magic, however, he would not be one to deter them! Especially if it could be used as a TEACHABLE MOMENT!!! Er. The only real concern was the errr... Chance that some of the magical balance of the castle was off due to the whole abandonment thing. Surely that was not the case however, and if it was it would probably be fine. Finneas was sure of it.

AnYwAy, anyway, ANYWAY.

"Perhaps you ought to take the lead." It was his idea after all and the first years were far more likely to listen to someone their own age. Maybe.
...What? Him? Teddy's rosy complexion darkened at the harrowing suggestion and he scanned the vicinity to see if anyone had just overheard. Schmoe meant well, Teddy thought, but it was, perhaps, a naive suggestion. The boy knew in his heart of hearts that he was meant for the behind-the-scenes kind of stuff. He was certainly not fit to lead any kind of activity in front of all the peers in his house, the new and old ones alike. He couldn't be a leader, didn't the man know? The bigger kids would be watching him - judging him, maybe, on how well he instructed the youngest kids, and Teddy was just gonna... nope. Nope on outta here.

"Oh, no thank you, sir." That was all the professor got out of him before he tried to seamlessly blend back into the crowd and rejoin Tavie.

He would just, you know, do the magic on his own. Mind his own business, or maybe let Schmoe pick someone more capable and with better leadership qualities than him to lead such an activity. Tavie could do it. She was fun and amiable and real leadership material.
