Catherine was up bright and early since that morning had been scheduled in her calendar for a while, so she had been expecting it. Waking up early had never really been an issue for her - what with such a noise household she lived in - but she didn't want to be the first to arrive.

The first year wouldn't have been able to be the first one there even if she wanted to, however. She waited for a few other students to start making their way up to where they were supposed to go, and followed them from a distance.

She arrived at the observatory behind a few others and stood at the far back, but in an angle where she could still see the professor. She wanted to stand closer to the woman so she wouldn't miss whatever means they were using to travel - she assumed a portkey, or several, given the number of students - but there was no way she would get any closer to ~~strangers~~ anyone until either her best friend or brother were there. They could then do the talking and socialising and... whatever else for her.

Or even any of the older kids that she knew. Those would work too, but more in a shielding kind of way. They knew more magic, so it'd be helpful to have them around too.

It was only then that she heard Noah's voice all the way at the front. She deadpanned and pursed her lips before slowly edging her way there to make sure she handed in her permission slip at the same time he did because it was safer that way and the older woman could ask him questions instead of her.

As soon as that was dealt with, she backed up again because no, thank you. She didn't want to be the first and she was most definitely not standing where the entire classroom could see her, which meant bye Noah, as he was already bringing all the attention to himself.
