Gunnar had been prepared for the state the common room would be in before he arrived and he wasn't exactly pleased that they'd have to clean before going to bed. It had been a very long day and he was tired, but he supposed it would feel better sleeping on clean sheets rather than dusty ones. And if they were all expected to pitch in, it would take no time at all. Where were the elves though? They could help out too since it was literally their job.

And he was one of the first ones to the common room, having led his younger housemates - particularly the first and second years and transfers - down to through the dungeons. So he was already present for Fuller-Thompson's mini speech as well as a pitiful display from a couple of his housemates.

"Absolutely not," he snapped at the boy (Curtis) who thought it perfectly fine to spit on the floor then leave it for someone else to clean up and walk towards the dorms. Disgusting. With a flick of his wand, he cast a barrier blocking the door to the boys dorm. A NEWT level shield charm, but he figured it would be effective enough to make his point. "Everyone is cleaning up. At the very least, you'll clean up after yourself." He didn't know this boy and would assume him to be a transfer as he didn't appear to be a first year, but he did not have the time or the energy for entitlement - not knowing that he was his Head of House's son. But even if he did, he would not care. As far as he was concerned, they were in this together and no one deserved special treatment.

"Anyone that has an issue with dust can certainly use a bubblehead charm." He spared a glance at Nina, disappointed with her trying to get out of this as well. "Older students should know how to cast that, and if you are someone who doesn't, ask an older student." They were Slytherins for Merlin's sake, and not whinging babies. "Pitch in, help out, and don't expect people to do it for you. The more we work together, the faster we get done." He didn't want to clean either, but he wasn't about to do someone else's work for them, or make someone else do his share.

The good mood he was in when he got off the train? Gone. That anger that he had so effectively pushed down earlier during the feast was already starting to spill out. Perhaps cleaning would be a good outlet for it. And he would start with his favorite window looking into the lake.
