Not when there was a lot going on at the moment, and knowing that her knee-jerk reaction was to run away. Mum and dad have reminded them to stay put after getting sorted and wait for their respective prefects to lead them to their dormitories. Though Noah was the adventurous type of kid, he'd trade off the adventures anytime if it meant sitting next to his twin sister whose thoughts were all over the place at the moment. Again, Gryffindor wasn't going anywhere, and he's got plenty of time to know them all.

Noah looked around and acknowledged the other kids present. He could easily tell that they were just like Catherine. They held a certain air of...knowingness. They all have that intelligent vibe to them...something that he doesn't have. Something that Catherine does have, and it made Noah swell with pride this time. "I'd die in this house, C. I'd have to settle with sleeping at the door each night if I ended up here," he said murmuring towards his sister, touching her shoulder with his. "Blue looks good on you too," he added, hoping that she'd feel at least a smidgen better. He did, after all, had a secret pact with their Dad that he'd look after Catherine...and Scar and Nugget once they start Hogwarts too.

Catherine need not know, but Noah was sure that she's the favored twin and that she shouldn't feel bad or isolated or any of the nasty things that she might be thinking.
Catherine would have been happy in normal circumstances, as her plan to act invisible was seemingly working now that she sat down, and no one that was already sitting at the table started talking to her. It would be easier to survive the opening feast that way.

The girl partly didn't want to listen to her twin's sorting because it would only reinforce her feeling miserable, but she couldn't help but hear first the Hat then her brother shouting. Typical Noah, making a scene wherever he went. Her face started to go red when she realised what he was shouting about, and although she didn't look up, she could see he was coming towards her house table instead of going to the one that belonged to his rightful house.

Oh no. Oh no. He would make a scene right there in front of her and the entire school would watch and look at them both incredulously and it would be the most horrible thing ever because then every single person would remember them later and make fun of them for being the siblings that got split up and made a big fuss about it.

Merlin, this day couldn't get any worse! Catherine felt her face burning and she held her breath when Noah finally reached her house table. Bracing herself, she continued to stare down at her empty plate and was in fact very much surprised when he simply sat down next to her.

And he was basically whispering. That did catch her by surprise and she was momentarily thrown-off and unsure of how to respond. Her first impulse would've been to scoot closer to him and remain dead quiet, but Catherine Mordaunt did not act on impulses, however comfortable and soothing they might feel at the moment. She did, however, remain quiet for a bit, still watching the emptiness of her plate.

Blue did look good on her. She knew she fit the house perfectly. It should be comforting that her now housemates were relatively similar to her - at least to some extent - and would not be driving her insane. But maybe she was wrong about that and the fact they were too similar would be a bad thing. It couldn't be worse then their own mad-house back home, though. Only, Catherine knew those people back home really well now and knew how they worked and how they normally reacted to things and that made it easier for her to navigate it all. She didn't know anyone at that school. No, she did. But the two people she did know were in a different house. A house they fit in with people like them. Her brother's tie was already red as was the inside of his robes and crest.

"You don't belong here, Noah." She said in a very low yet firm tone, not moving her gaze nor her hands that were still nestled in her lap. The truth was, Catherine did want him there, it was comforting, but she knew it would be pointless because in less than an hour they would be split up again and their new life would start. Apart. Not sharing a bedroom, not even sharing a table. The only thing they shared now was their surname and family baggage.
