He just...never ever wanted to think about that. Ever. Never.
Though he did have to admit that the work Miss Evans (no, he was not questioning why she was still a Miss and not a Mrs because he DID NOT WANT TO KNOW) had been conducting in the Death Chamber was riveting and some of the best work she had done for him. Even if he had to weed through some of her more...flowery jargon now and then.
He had actually been reviewing some of her reports from last month when her knock came upon his door - not that he knew this.
"Enter!" he called out over the rim of his Earl grey, hot, cup of tea. Aslan did as she was bid, her heavier frame slipping silently into the office, and without a word, took the seat opposite Airey. "Hullo." she simply said, her fingers plucking at the lining of her robe cuff. Airey was a presence Aslan had not expected in her life beyond Hogwarts. He was silver, and vermillion, and the deepest of reds. familial, loyal, logical.
He was, of the many professors she had learned from, one of the more interesting and perhaps the only one the lioness would have conceded to work under. "Are you going to Hogwarts." It did not sound like a question, but Aslan's questions had always been more statements. She was an assumer, an intuitive and just then, she was certain Airey would not let go the opportunity to protect his former workplace. |
