Oh? My? Merlin?????

Trying to climb the mountain was one thing but trying to protect himself from the rocks AND continue to climb was asking for too much. He didn't even check to see if his last spell worked or not but simply clung as close to the surface of the rock as he could while continuing to climb. Or trying to.

This was hard, okay??

It came as a HUGE relief when they reached the top of the mountain and Lucas wasted NO time in flopping down on the, uh, mountain. The top of the mountain. He was breathing heavily and there was that familiar shooting pain down the back of his calves but he'd made it. Maybe this really was a sign that he needed to do more exercise to survive. Or maybe he just needed to learn how to breathe while climbing.

But it didn't matter. Not now. Not when he could do nothing about-

..........

.................

EXCUSE ME???

Lucas looked up suddenly and stared at Trent in shock. And then at the mountain edge they had come up from. And then back at Trent again. They were going to jump? They were going to JUMP! Somehow, this was WORSE than all that climbing. Sure, the man was talking about all the protection charms he'd put into place but that wasn't enough to stop the Gryffindor from leaning over and staring apprehensively at the ground.

Oh merlin oh merlin oh merlin.

There was nothing for it. He turned around and joined the very back of the queue, behind a very familiar-looking Slytherin (Kaiser) and just.... stood there. Nervously. They weren't going to die. Trent would NEVER let them die. He trusted the main completely. So what was he so nervous about?

All too soon for his liking, he had reached close enough to the edge. Deep breaths, Dakest, deep breaths. Taking out his wand, he held it up, mentally chanting the spell as he watched Kaiser cast the spell and then-

GASP.

THIS WAS IT.

Lucas wasted no time in stepping up to the edge and pointing his wand down at the sixth year. Come on come on come on! "Ebublio!" It all happened so quickly.... the shout, the trace of an 'e', the sudden flash of light. His heart was thumping wildly in his chest but he couldn't concentrate on that now. Not when he had something else he needed to do.

Before he could do more than let out a small whimper, the fourth year squeezed his eyes shut and leapt off the edge of the mountain.

Geronimo?
