This was going to be SO COOL!
Cecelia felt like a REAL investigator and she couldn't WAIT to find out who the cookie thief was. Truth be told, she WANTED to accuse the headmistress, because the woman was NOT in her good books as of late, but she SUPPOSED the evidence would speak for itself. The ink would tell all.
She made quick work of retrieving the pieces of filter paper and then returned to her station to set up everything she'd need. She hadn't used a pencil for school work much, but she liked to draw, so she DID have a few on hand. A pencil AND ruler were used to create the lines, which looked pretty great, if she did say so herself. Nice and straight and ready for use. NEXT it was time for the ink dots. Five dots, so that meant five suspects, right? She was careful not to drip, spacing the dots along the lines on each of her papers. Then she was done, and trying very hard to sit still. She was eager to get on with the next step, and the next, wanting the mystery to be solved.
Waiting was hard.
