...So.

Here she was. The first year DIDN'T skip into the ballroom, she walked NORMALLY, and she had a bit of French FROWN on her face, and she was dressed very TIDILY in her uniform, except her hair, which was windblown as usual. She thought about dodging Professor Headman Trent when she saw him, but there were only TWO PEOPLE in the room so far so she felt like she HAD to say something.

"Sir," Bernie greeted the man with a VERY SERIOUS curtsy, and then she spun around and made her way to stand by a window and try to blend into the wall. OOh, a curtain... maybe she could hide behind that.

Claudine was still undecided if she wanted to attend the upcoming Ball. For one thing, she intended on asking no one to go with her. If she did attend, she would be taking herself as her date; she would be there for the memories that would make precious sketches. Her sketchpad labelled 'First Year of Hogwarts (at Beauxbatons)' was quickly being filled with memory sketches. Anyway, Claudine was not entirely sure what she was doing here. Dancing was not her thing.

Did she want to publicly embarrass herself? Of course not.

Maybe she'll just stand and watch everyone else.

"Hello, Headmaster.'' Claudine fixed him one of her unsmiling gazes then looked around. An older Ravenclaw... and Bernie. She was pretty pleased to have the Gryffindor back but while Bernie had been suspended, she found that she had this growing guilt about her: if she had not set the roses on fire, then Bernie never would have been suspended. Claudine supposed she ought to express that feeling but she didn't know how to. Feelings weren't her thing either; they were normally faked when needed- much like the apology to the HeadCrazyMistress.

"Er. Hi, Bernie.'' Did the Lioness even want to talk to her? Claudine had sort of avoided Bernie since she came back save for the occasional 'hello'. "Er, do you reckon Trent's the one who's going to teach us how to dance? Does he even know how to?'' These were just small talk questions.
