"Kaiser," Kaiser said helpfully. Mister Kaiser or just Kaiser, either of those worked. For all intents and purposes, it served as a surname and a first name. He then gave a small nod. Yes, Kaiser had gathered that the mirrors would serve some sort of purpose at some point in this lesson, but he'd deal with that... later.
If he noticed the reluctance that Eiji showed as he came over to stand near him, he didn't take any offence. Partly because it was quite difficult for Kaiser to be offended by anything, but mostly because he just never took anything Eiji said or did personally. Maybe if the other boy came right up to him and said 'your mother was a murtlap and your father smelt of crazyberries' it would be a different story, as that was quite the specific insult.
Anyway, Kaiser gave the other Slytherin boy a very subtle nod of the head in greeting, and left it at that.
Right. Transfiguration. Barlow. Terrible jokes that went right over Kaiser's head. Aaaand... a question. He raised his hand, ready to make a smart aleck comment about how one thing transfigured an object and the other one charmed it, before he realised he didn't even have the energy to spare on a joke answer. He let his hand drop again.
Did the difference really matter? As long as you could cast the spells, you were good, right?
