Lucas wasn't really excited about this, uh, Quiz Bowl? Yeah. He had a funny feeling he wasn't going to do very well in it anyways unless Sandhu decided to ask only Astronomy questions. Or questions he just knew the answer to, then he might speak up. But otherwise, he had no intention of really answering.
So why was he here? Because it was in the Astronomy classroom and he liked this tower.
And he was bored.
Wandering in, the boy felt his heart sink as soon as he saw the setup. They had to split up into houses? That was....... probably fair. But seeing the empty Gryffindor table only made him feel even worse, especially since he realised that he, Lucas Dakest, was probably going to be the one answering.
Oh merlin oh no oh no. No no no.
Approaching the empty table, he sat down, uh, somewhere close to one of the buzzers but not too close. Just in case someone else decided to come and join him.
Couldn't he just pretend he was in another house? The Sorting Hat did almost put him in Hufflepuff.
