Under normal circumstances, perhaps this family of bowtruckles could have reacted differently. Particularly when it came to the likes of the two Gryffindors [Krel Ansell & Kolyander]. But not today. Not this time. Sitting still only made them easier targets and a few became tangled in the girl's red hair while one made an attempt to shimmy up the boy's shirt to scratch him up there.

The laughter battle cries of another [lazykitty], drew a few bowtruckles away from the bumps on a log to flank this one and launch in assault. The sound so menacing to their fragile ears.

No human was left untouched. A boy [2111jen] had one attempting to climb up his trouser leg. One small bowtruckle, no more than a toddler by human standards, struggled with an acorn to pelt at another boy [Felixir]. Another, carefully timing itself, dropped down from the branches of a tree upon another girl [Fireheart]. One particularly perturbed bowtruckle took personal offense to another boy [emjay] pocketing their weapons and began chattering its teeth rabidly while in hot pursuit.

This distance between the humans and the trees did not appear to matter to the bowtruckles this day. Not after what they had seen days prior. The boy [emjay] did ask a very interesting and telling question. Why??
