With regard to their order, Alex just nodded along. "I vote we get everything. We can dip the brownies and cake into the ice cream." Yes, perfect plan. They were living such healthy lives.

"Roxy can be on the list. She's certainly earned her spot." Maddie had never been a dog person, but somehow Alex's fur baby was endearing and got along with her cats. ...Or was she endearing because she got on with them? Well, one of them, but Zeus was hard to please. He took after her that way. Truth be told, with Z's health, the brunette was glad Hugo would have another playmate around. She wasn't going to think on that now, though. Today was a happy day.

"You, Alexander, are a terrible influence. I love it." It worked because she could be one, too. Moving up in the queue, Maddie bounced a bit, thoughts of sugary foods filling her head. "We should go find a mascot after this, get a picture..."

She was teasing. He knew she was teasing, right?
