Having to stand beside her while her legs had been wobbly that day, or letting her meet his owl, Pietro, which wasn't exactly a friendly introduction but at least owl bites were avoided.

And truth be told, this Ravenclaw actually did value her opinion. Why shouldn't her opinion matter? Drewett wouldn't have an answer to that question. He could, however, hear in his head Eviloise's possible answers and he didn't want to entertain that. He liked Nina, and he only wished the people who didn't like her gave her a chance. Oh, and fashion-related praise is all thanks to one Jolie Chosen, by the way. Drewett appreciated each and every one of his Slytherin friends. Wasn't that obvious?

.......Pictures. Drewett tried to mask his confusion with a small curl of his lips. A little smile. He wanted to question her answer, but he knew enough to not push someone to share more than they wanted to. He respected that. "P-Pictures of......boys?" It was literally the first one that popped in his mind. Girls liked looking at boys, didn't they? He momentarily forgot that he was a boy himself and, if only he realized what he said, this would have been awkward. "Oh, this?" He raised the paper bag a few inches off the floor, his other hand ruffling his hair. "New t-trousers. I outgrew my old ones."

Unfortunately. On top of that, growing pains sucked.
To be fair, had their relationship been what it was now back then in that moment, she wouldn't have used his shirt as a snot wipe. So perhaps he could take solace in the fact that he would never be her snot wipe ever again? She had far too much shame for that. He had stumbled upon her in a... less than ideal circumstance. Though the day did eventually turn around. Aside from her one blunder in exposing her extreme fear of living, breathing aniMALS, snot wiping, and the whole ugly crying thing... It had been a good day. One of the greatest. A day destined for the books, that's for sure.

And the fact of the matter is that Nina shouldn't have been surprised that he valued her opinion. Yet... She was. Because, well, typically people valued the opinions that they wanted to hear. Nina would know, she was very accustomed to giving boys the opinions she knew they wanted. Like when Calyx talked about plants, Nina suddenly loved plants! Even though, really, she felt the same way about magical plants as she did for animals. Or when Hudson talked about his buildings and designs, Nina was an avid fan of architecture. When in truth, she didn't really care far beyond the aesthetics. Perhaps the only times she truly gave her real opinions was when she was around the girls and that only ever made her the bad guy. She lived in two extremes, clearly.

This was also the reason why spending time with Drewett was so confusing. He was one of the only boys who ever turned it around on her. Asked for her truthful opinion before giving hints as to his own. It was slightly unsettling and why she always found herself slipping up, though she was sure he was too dorky to notice. Exhibit A.

Nina let an easy, quiet laugh escape her mouth before looking at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Why are you interested?" she teased. "Plenty of those kinds of photos, but some are a little tasteless." It was a summer edition. Hardly any clothes. Which she didn't entirely mind to be frank. Was she amused? Very. He really did bring this upon himself, did he know? "Now that you mention it, I could tell that you've grown taller!"
