'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's original London & Broadway casts complete runs
The original London and Broadway cast and principles of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - led by Jamie Parker (Harry), Paul Thornley (Ron), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione), Alex Price (Draco), Poppy Miller (Ginny), Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), and Anthony Boyle (Scorpius) said goodbye to their iconic characters this Sunday evening.
The seven leads finished off the two-part production in New York City on St. Patrick's Day with three encores at the end of the shows, which can be seen below.
The original shows won numerous Olivier Awards in the U.K. two years ago, including for Parker, Dumezweni, and Boyle (all three of whom were also nominated for Tony Awards), and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won even more Tony Awards last year in the U.S., including Best Play.
The actors took to social media to say their fond farewells to each other, and to the production that helped them bring J.K. Rowling's iconic characters to life. View this post on Instagram Three years ago I first met you in a small rehearsal room in Soho before the process began. I walked in, saw the slight frame of a young man and thought, “shit that’s him... This is who I’m going on this year long journey with”. 3 years on, here we are, on Broadway, telling this story and I couldn’t be more thankful to have shared this entire experience with you. As an actor, you are a force to be reckoned with. Watching you sculpt your Scorpius Malfoy right before my very eyes is a process I will never forget. You inspire me as an artist and I have learnt so much from you. But more importantly, as a friend, I couldn’t have done this without you. You are a friend for life and wherever the hell you are on this earth, you won’t be getting rid of me. I will still send you a voice note asking what I should have for dinner at 11pm. Thank you for the laughs, the tears and most importantly the beers. You are the Scorpius to my Albus and quite frankly I couldn’t have asked for a better pal and actor to play with. I hope one day we get to play again... but not too soon because, quite frankly, you’re doing my ****ing head in. Friends.... ALWAYS.
