| HI. We're catching up, if that's okay? :3 YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers OH ....... OKAY, well good thing she hadn't done anything with the ethanol just yet. Scorgify and sterilize with incendio tria. She felt slightly abashed for not realizing that was what he meant, considering she was on seventh year of potions now. But it was likely due to her distracted state of mind that caused the momentary lapse in memory. Swallowing, Skylar nodded at Noble and followed his lead with a non-verbal scorgify and a non-verbal incendio tria, directing it around the inside of the cauldron in a spiral shape.
Sterilization complete. Using a syringe, she measured out 500 ml of water and horklump juice, squeezing the syringe into the cauldron. To be honest, use of a syringe was actually REALLY cool. And soothing, in a weird, gross sense. Right though, five drops of flobberworm mucus, ten blue-bottle fly larvae, one at a time. And just wait.
Sterilizing the stirring rod and knife through the flame, check. And then carefully, she worked to strip the leaves from the rosemary and chop it up. Rather roughly at first, but she had some aggression she was working out, so hopefully Noble wouldn't mind. It was safer to work out her aggression on the rosemary, right? Coarse, course .... eventually became finer. And she measured one tablespoon carefully, sprinkling it over the top of her potion, before stirring twice clockwise. Murtlap tentacles, and Skylar found herself smiling at the foolish things she'd said when she was just an ickle third year. Essence of murtlap being her amortentia because it reminded her of the healer? REALLY? What had ickle thirteen year old her been even thinking? She had no idea, but the lasting effects stuck with her, somehow, as she quietly sliced the tentacles in half lengthways. And added ten drops of the honeywater over the tentacles, gentle tossing them together. Slimy, yet satisfying. Was this how Cassie felt when baking? Adding the pile into the cauldron once she was done, she then proceeded to add five drops of the tea tree oil.
Picking up her stirring rod, she glided it through the blue part of the flame, as she'd done before, and then stirred her potion once clockwise and once counter-clockwise. Letting the rod lean against the cauldron side, she dropped three dried leeches into the mortar and began to work through crushing them. Once content with that, she sprinkled that in and then using her freshly sterilized knife, she shredded the dittany into a pile onto her cutting board. But didn't add it, as specified, grating her three inches of Wiggentree bark into another pile. Dittany and then promptly adding the Wiggentree bark. And then the Salamander blood, which apparently was the only blood to be added to this potion. Heh. Only problem? She was doing fine up until this point except the tracing in a figure eight pattern was more like a zero with a line down the middle. Hopefully it would be okay? Quarter teaspoon of silver powder down the middle of the zero eight and three stirs which she found easier to do the stirring motion in the shape of an eight than the arbitrary pouring of the salamander blood. It was a gray ..... not as pale as Noble's was, but it was light-ish? Turning her heat off, she added the 250 ml of boom berry juice and stirred clockwise, watching for it to thicken. Oh, so they weren't placing it in a vial just yet? Peering at her potion, she bit her lip and glanced up Noble. She guessed this was good, hopefully. It was mostly white... ish.
Tidying her work area, she left her namecard by her cauldron, in case Noble forgot the seating arrangements and nodded at the Potions Master before departing.
