Long-Term Herbology Assignment
This assignment was amazing. For the soap, I choose almond oil for the conditioning and lather aspect and lavender oil for the relaxation properties. As a Quidditch player who likes to relax and take care of herself especially when it comes to beauty, I thought they would be the ideal combination. At first, I was very nervous about making the soap because I hadn't made something in the Potions lab on my own. Thankfully, it was very successful.
I made a very simple face mask with only three ingredients (banana, orange juice and honey) that could be sourced from any kitchen. I made this mask due to the fact that depending on the weather or factors like stress, my skin reacts differently. The mask was very easy to make.
I used beach grass for the making of the face cloth. By performing a Severing Charm, I stripped the material before making the towel. It did take a couple of moments after I said the incantation for it to form its shape which had me worried for a bit but it turned out okay.
As I headed for the girls' bathroom with my new toiletry set, I was nervous as to how the items would react with my skin due to my skin not being as good as it normally is due to some stress.
I found the soap had a beautiful lather and it made my skin feel very supple. The aroma made me feel very calm. There was no negative reaction with my skin after I rinsed the soap off my face. The face mask had a lovely fruity and sweet smell and it was very safe for all skin types. I left it on my face for fifteen minutes prior to rinsing it off. My skin glowed much to my delight.
The face towel felt fine. It dried my face without any irritation but then again, I am usually fine with various towelling materials.
