Left or right? Right or left? He had to sigh because he had to choose now, and if he made a mistake or later changes his mind he'll have to double back. And with Zita tagging along he had to slow down by default. Changing his strategy on a dime is harder when one has to think beyond oneself.

Following right on his heels she looked up as they walked in.

"How do you even know which is the big star with all of these without the telescope?" She was looking up but wasn't giving too much effort in really finding it. "You said a spoon thing was near it?" She knew he called it the small dipper, but if she seemed totally clueless he would continue to help her and that's what she was trying to pull off.
Zita talking to him is a good way to remind him of that. "The North Star is the brightest star at the tip of the handle of the Small Dipper. I guess I'm always keeping an eye out of that scooper shaped cluster of stars and its easy to keep track of Polaris that way." he said as he pointed pretty much on the nose of the Small Dipper, but he's not sure if Zita is quite getting it. He had to stand closer to her to do that, but not tooooo close. He is self-aware ladies and gents.

He pressed his hand against the hedge, half hoping it was some kind of stage greens where it would just fall over on a push. Or maybe they can just push their way through every roadblock-- the tried and true Gryffindor technique. He probably wouldve done the latter though but again-- he has a Slytherin on-board.

"Lets go right." he finally decided as he led the way, eyeballing the North Star more than ever. They were shifting positions now and the Small Dipper's orientation in the sky was starting to shift. He found a break in the hedge a few paces down, much to his great relief, and made the turn, quickening his pace as he attempted to get themselves back on the same path earlier.

Thing is this section of the maze has lots of long, continuous hedges and they found themselves walking towards the left for quite some time before finally finding another break in the hedge-- and now find themselves with several breaks in the hedges, all of which looks to lead into more convoluted paths. "If its not endless paths its lots of confusing corners..." he murmured, slight bit of frustration edging in his voice. He looks up and sees the Small Dipper and somehow, that calms him down "Gotta keep that thing straight ahead of us just like before." And thats when he picked a path that looked to be a dead end but actually had a lot of trick corners.
