She still needed two more bats for her to reach the minimum number. Vivian stayed a little bit just in case the bats she had lured earlier decided to fly away, but thankfully they didn't. She took one last glance at the bat trio before going back to one of the bins and retrieved a mango. It had softer skin as compared to the apple, so it should be easier to peel. And yes, she saw her bestie bite the fruits and although that did sound like the easier way to expose the fruit meat, the prefect preferred not to bite anything she wasn't sure was clean enough... just in case.

Vivian sort of poked the mango with her fingernail. She hadn't been able to trim them yet, so there was still a bit of length to it which she deemed good enough to cut through the fruit's skin. She poked a little harder until she was able to pull back a bit of the skin. This required less effort than the apple one, she thought. But she decided she should cut and clean her nails again. She didn't need fruit juice and meat stuck underneath her nails. Ew.

Time to lure the bats! The prefect gave the mango a little squeeze so the juice could trickle down her hand and fall to the floor. Then, she squeezed even more and even Vivian could smell the mango from there. See? Even more reason to stop by the kitchens tonight. There, a bat came flying down to her and found itself a place to land on her shoulder again right after stealing a bite from the mango. "Whoa, hungry?" Vivian had softened up a little bit now. Perhaps they weren't that scary at all. And perhaps that was because they were fruit bats. They didn't bite anything unless there were fruits, right? The prefect offered the mango to the bat again, and yet another one decided to join the mango party too. Great! She had two of them already!

But you know what the hard part of this activity was? It made Vivian feel tiny. With two bats perched on both shoulders, the blond sighed and slightly cursed as she tiptoed to reach the lowest part of the limb that her short legs could manage. She tossed bits of the mango at an empty part and the bats, as if they knew what they were supposed to do, obliged as well. "You both can have the rest, too." Vivian didn't need the fruit anyway. It was for them.

Could she wash her hands now?
