The fifth year was watching the older Slytherin as she pilled her plate with pancakes. Just three? Puhlease. She could stacked her plate with MORE pancakes! Challenge accepted!
She put a pancake on her waiting plate, took a dab of butter and spread it over the top. Next she put another pancake on top and slathered it with butter. And the next, until she managed to stacked five pancakes on her plate. There, she has more pancakes than Junia. She poured the thick syrup over the cakes, then cut across the top so the sweet liquid would ooze down between them. She took a bite from her delicious pancakes.
Junia was mid bite when she caught Alyce watching her. Her eyebrows raised as the Slytherin then added pancakes to her plate. She
might've even commented on how good they were had she not noticed that the younger snake had taken two
more than she had. Now normally this might not even have bothered the brunette, but lately with her feeling like she wasn't the best at anything, well, her competitive side was URGING her to make a stand right here at the breakfast table. She had to do so casually, though. She certainly didn't want to draw attention to the fact that she felt she was being challenged. Instead she smiiiiiiled and continued eating, waiting until she was on her last pancake to remark,
"These are delicious, aren't they? I think I'll have room for seconds." Three more pancakes were placed on her plate and prepared with the utmost care before she dug in.
There, now she had six. One more than Alyce and the world was right once again.
