And so, notebook and quill in hand, she made her way to the balcony. She had heard about the few balconies before but never really intended to visit them. But she figured this was as good a place as any to sit with her imagination.
Upon reaching her destination, she stood against the banister stopping her from falling and gazed at the view before her. She had seen this from the common room but it somehow seemed different here, like somebody had shone a new, brighter light on the grounds surrounding the castle. And she absolutely adored it.
Taking in the soothing fresh air, she closed her eye and held her face up against the sun above. She would be happy here, she was sure.
With a gentle sigh, she turned on her heel and searched for a nice place to sit and read. Her eyes fell on the older girl, sketchbook in her hand. Oh no, she hadn't interrupted had she?
Ellie cleared her throat so as not to startle the girl and considered what to say. "Hi, I hope I'm not interrupting, would you mind some company"
She sure hoped not, she wouldn't mind making a friend.
Sylvie looked up as she heard footsteps and instantly looked back down when she saw it wasn't someone she knew. Not that she wasn't a friendly person because totally was, the friendliest, but sometimes Sylvie doesn't realise she doesn't have a full grasp of the situation. In this moment, the fourth year's mind was was already thinking about outlines and possible colour schemes before the girl spoke up and she blinked.
Oh, there was a girl here. Sylvie smiled at her, all teeth and Gryffindor cheer. "You're not interrupting," Sylvie said, assuming the girl was either a first or a second year. You could sort of smell the newness on the younger ones, she'd noticed that last year. "Sure! Just don't fall, I'm not good with spells that'll keep you alive," she added with another smile, cheerful as if talking about the weather.
