As soon as she sat down, she felt someone taking her hand. Ace. Hmm.. Had Ace been nervous...? wondered Vi after the Head Boy had subtly taken her hand into his. She gave his hand a small squeeze. “You’re going to be great... No. You’re amazing.” whispered Vi to him. A little encouragement for her amazing best friend.

Hearing the door to the compartment open, Vi next saw Derf appear. Oh! Was he the new Hufflepuff Prefect? She had hoped so and it appeared her hypothesis was correct. A big smile appeared on her lips as she nodded her head towards him, “Hey Derf! Congrats. Hopefully we don’t have too many cauldrons try to escape us,” she said, flashing him a brief wink as she referenced the day they met in Diagon Alley when Derf was an ickle firstie. How he had grown.

More excitement came to the Prefect Compartment! Skylar appeared with not one but TWO quidditch brooms, causing Vi to raise her right eyebrow. “Hey Sky! Congrats. What are those for?” She glanced at Ace, trying to see if he had an idea.

Before any more questions could be asked, Jessa had appeared and she was promptly followed by Kirk and Isa. “Hey!” She offered all three of them a smile and a congratulatory nod as they walked in. Vi was about to ask about people’s holidays when Ace brought out cupcakes. Merlin. He really did know how to cook. The boy—- no — Almost man now was a natural in the kitchen indeed. She still needed to grab a few recipes from him but she’d do that later. As of right now, she’d have a cupcake. She chose a rainbow coloured cupcake and began to nibble on it.
