After getting her luggage settled, she opened a cage to allow her cat, Edie, to roam free while no one else was around to be allergic to her.

She opened her new Goshawk and started reading. She could hear voices growing in volume on the platform, and slight movement as more and more students started to board. Ah, it was the beginning again. Kye's favorite time of year.
It wasn't that Vivian hated her co-prefects, but she was glad to be out of that prefects' compartment. What with Quidditch back at Hogwarts, it meant having four more captain butts seated and the blond wasn't a big fan of crowded places. She wasn't complaining, not really, but it was going to take some time to adjust. And to think Coleslaw was her co-prefect for Slytherin? Yeah, she still had very much mixed emotions about that. Removing herself from that compartment after their annual start-of-term get-together was probably a good decision on her part.

Vivian wasn't exactly looking for a friend in specific, but she was hoping to maybe bump into Liss or Hattie or Chase so she didn't have to look like a total loner. She casually peeked into each compartment, making excuses that she was 'just checking' if she caught herself in awkward shouldn't-have-intruded situations. No dormie, no snogging buddy, no bestie. Perhaps they weren't around this part of the train? Peeking into another one, she was quite glad to see a familiar face. "Hey!" the blond said, grinning and waving a finger at Kye. "Am I interrupting?" She had a book, after all, and Vivian knew full well that some people just didn't like to be distracted from their pastimes.
