7. Care of Magical Creatures
Maisie had loved the lesson about Mooncalves. She still couldn’t believe she’d seen real Mooncalves! She was in her dorm writing an episode of her knight story where Skylarn defeated a Chinese Fireball to save a Mooncalf. His sword cut through the dragon’s scales as if they were water. The soft skin underneath was vulnerable. Maisie pulled her dressing gown closer round her. It was freezing up here! The dragon roared. Skylarn jumped back, narrowly avoiding the flames. With one stab, Skylarn slayed the dragon through the heart. Maisie wished her mother would love her stories, but that was impossible.
