Post Fantastic Beasts' series actor Callum Turner comments on joining saga, for first time

While promoting the theatrical release of his upcoming movie The Only Living Boy in New York this week, actor Callum Turner briefly commented - for the first time - about joining the Fantastic Beasts series, in which he will play British Auror Theseus Scamander (older brother of Newt).

Turner took a short time off Fantastic Beasts 2 filming to promote this new project.

Quote:
Callum Turner: “At the moment I’m doing ‘Fantastic Beasts [and Where to Find Them 2].’ Which is a real privilege to be part of something like that.”
Turner - who is 27 years old despite playing on-screen big brother to Eddie Redmayne (35 years old) - took part in a panel chat with The Only Living Boy in New York costars and director Cynthia Nixon, Kiersey Clemons and Marc Webb in New York City, which can be watched below. The movie, whose trailer can be seen here, hits theaters in limited release this Friday.

The following plot details were released by Warner Bros. about the second Fantastic Beasts installment, which kicks off in spring 1927.

Quote:
J.K. Rowling wrote the screenplay for the film, which opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings.

The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.
The starring cast for Fantastic Beasts 2 includes Turner and Redmayne with Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski), Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone), Zoe Kravitz (Leta Lestrange), Johnny Depp (Gellert Grindelwald), Kevin Guthrie (Abernathy), and Jude Law (Albus Dumbeldore)
