Introduction to Vedic Arithmancy

As discussed in other chapters, Numerology is a key to human behavior. Numerologies forget their own identities and devote themselves, totally to exploring the personalities of others. This can be done with many different methods such as the previously discussed Kundalini and Tantric numerology from the first section of our textbook. The method we will be exploring in section two of our Cultural Arithmancy textbook is that of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda can be connected with Tantra and Kundalini numerology through its origins. I say this because Ayurveda, like Tantra, is also a Sanskrit word. Ayurveda means “life knowledge”. Ayurveda is a system of medicine with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent and is typically used in Hindu practices. The therapies and practices of Ayurveda have been integrated in general wellness applications as well as in some cases in medical use around the world.

The classic Ayurvedic texts begin with accounts of transmissions of medical knowledge from gods to sages, and then from said sages to human physicians. In Sushruta’s Compendium, Sushruta worte that Dhavantari, or the hindu god of Ayurveda, incarnated himself as a king of Varanasi and tough medicine to a group of physicians including Sushruta. The practice of Ayurveda and its therapies have evolved throughout more than in over two millennia. The varied therapies are typically based on complex herbal compounds, minerals and metal substances.

With Ayurvedic Numerology we will be focusing on calculations that can provide the following much needed answers:

• A better understanding of both our good and bad sides
• A method of accepting our weaknesses, and the weaknesses of others
• A vehicle for discussing these weaknesses
• A joyful way of passing time
• A freedom and escape from our own personal worries
• A good focal point, or method of paying attention and getting attention
• Popularity and respect
• A tool for entering into the unknown
• Friendly interactions

We will focus on developing the following in order to practice Numerology:

• The mind of a scholar researching life
• The alertness of an explorer
• A good memory and pointedness
• An intuitive mind
• Good conversational skills
