"It’s supposed to look like this?" Sirius frowned at the Mandrake he was meant to be repotting. It struggled in his hand, and he tightened his grip to stop it wriggling out. "It’s gone all purple from screaming..."
He was talking to Remus, who didn’t reply. He looked over to where the other boy was wrestling his ugly baby plant into its pot. Oh, right. Safety earmuffs.
What had the professor said would happen if you heard the baby Mandrake crying? He couldn’t remember until he saw Merriweather Jenkins hit the floor, pink earmuffs in hand. Stupid girl was unconscious.
