Admittedly upon seeing the pairings for the duel on the roster sheet Hady had to stare at the name beside hers for a few moments. Off the top of her head she couldn't put a face to the name even if it did sound familiar. Just like that though, a light bulb going off inside her head she knew who this girl was. Nicky. Not someone she knew personally but from seeing her around the halls and in lessons. Therefore she had no idea of the girls dueling style, which in turn only made her practice more.

Stepping into the arena wearing the proper dueling attire Hadleigh walked over to her place. There wasn't a greeting from either of them as per usual but that was fine by her. Just the simple required bowing at the waist, eyes set on the other girl, wand now held in her hand. Silently taking in Nicky to see if she could get an idea of what she was going to bring into this. There wasn't much to go by. Not at least until the Claw opened her mouth and spoke. Cheering up? The cheering charm perhaps?

The brunette prepared herself in readying to toss up a shield. Before she could finish there were roses growing around her in a large circle causing her quickly step back out of the way only to end up backing into them. The rose growth charm. The same one she had used in her duel last term. The thorns weren't all that pleasant to back into pricking her arms and back. Not a sound did she made however about it already silently picking a charm to get rid of them.

Before she could even manage anything the rose bush was a flame. Large embers crackling in every direction with the intent to harm. Clearly this girl wasn't messing around and got right down into it. Hady wasn't about to play game either keeping her wand close to her while at the same time pointing at the flames quietly casting the 'Extinguishing Spell' to put out the flames that were making it hard to breath without wanting to cough.

Fixing her gaze across from her she cast a simple 'Conjunctivitis Curse' quickly followed up with a quietly spoken, "Expulso". The former being more in the form of a distraction hopefully if nothing else.
