Luckily, there hadn’t been any more rogue bludgers since that first one. Even so, Kendall had never felt like her work was boring. It was just new, as the drawings and messages on her desk from her kids still attested to. She still hadn’t exactly expected to see the department head crawling under desks, however. That was definitely not something she saw every day, but she still reached into her desk for a piece of chocolate. A snack while she figured out what was going on, although she was fairly sure that he wasn’t trying to hide. Odds were he wouldn’t actually be hidden under that desk anyway.

“Um, did you lose something?,” she asked after a moment, still watching him from her desk. There was the brief moment here she’d wondered if he’d even noticed her sitting there, but that wasn’t about to stop her. Nor would it stop her from offering chocolate if that looked like it might help.
