Vickers ran a hand down to smooth his tie, then peeked into the meeting room. He knew his Department Head hasn’t changed, since he actually saw her at the orientation, but there was still some lingering anxiety from his previous bosses that did take off at probably the worst time in his not-so-long life.

And yes as expected there Lynley was, everything prepped and waiting.

He cleared his throat oh so quietly, trying to make sure his voice doesn’t crack this time "Goodmorning Ms Purcell." he nodded to the fierce woman in front. "And you too Gabby hello." he added to the Liason.

He then stopped by the snack bar and took some tea for himself, and although intending to get some carrot sticks, took some chocolate covered strawberries instead. Which he didn’t realize until he sat himself down.

Should he go back and swap it out? This is food and it was already on his plate. Would it be unseemly if he returned it? Are these women germophobic? Etiquette freaks? If they knew Vickers they'd have known he was a walking cleanroom, he was probably cleaner than the entire food table.

But returning food you don’t want is likely rude, at least that’s what his grandma says.

So he sits and tries to just busy himself with his tea.
