Aron took the young man's hand and shook it firmly, now piecing together a few things on his own regarding this particular employee. "Emily has mentioned you a few times," he added nonchalantly. Perhaps not in the most complimentary of ways, but he had been brought up a few times during their trips to the bar after work. Aron looked up at the top of Rhydian's head and chuckled.

"Suppose I could," he mused. "Probably would accept chocolate over galleons for her babysitting services." Which would in turn save him and Seren some pocket change.

Which also meant that his assumption about this one was wrong. Huh, interesting. Just as well seeing as interoffice romances could be sticky business.
The Bosslady had mentioned him? Rhydian sort of blinked at the man, and then abruptly deadpanned at the look and laughter to the apparel on the top of his head. "No appreciation these days." The mutter was lowkey enough, a personal acknowledgement not to take the laughter too much to heart. "We've got an understanding."

Or they would have an understanding. It was what the hat was for.

As for the whole chocolate-to-Lex-for-babysitting thing, Rhydian's nose crinkled briefly. One way or another, he had to get used to the idea of other men buying such things for Lex. So, what better way to practice than this.

Without missing a beat, Rhydian moved over to one of the shelves, searched the chocolates available there briefly, before plucking out a variety set. He'd bought one of the same for her before, some time ago, and she'd liked them. They were modestly priced too, so it wasn't like he was going to break the Department Head's bank with this.

Turning, he handed the man the box. "Here. These are a sure bet."
