The comfort of this seating area is most likely a result of the Professor's desire to be comfortable even when outside of his office as opposed to a genuine concern for the comfort of his students. That doesn't matter, the place has been made comfortable regardless so you might as well enjoy it while you wait for the Professor to be available.

Outside the door is a sign that warns against exorbitant and overly loud banging on his door and now thanks to your schoolmate, it also gives a 'shhhh' and a verbal reminder to not go overboard. You're free to bang away to your heart's content nonetheless, the only question is 'what will happen after?' but you must surely have had an emergency to be banging too loudly in the first place so good on you!

The chairs have been charmed to give off a blissful aroma--a different one every few hours in fact--and the cushions have been made extra soft. Just...don't go falling asleep here. It's not a dorm, nor is it the Hospital Wing and the Professor has ways of waking people up.
