Once in the middle of the (practically deserted) dance floor Kade took Monique's hand and spun her into him. They'd never been dancing together for real, but they spent plenty of time slow dancing in their kitchen so he knew where to place his hands and how to hold her so that they could move together easily.
"So," he said, "Welcome to the Ministry. Now you'll believe me when I say it's not very exciting."
Monique smiled. This was fun. It was kind of like dancing in their kitchen, but a little more open.
"So this is it, then?" she said looking around.
"It could be worse." Possibly. She didn't know. She hadn't really had a proper job before. So it was entirely possible that this place was more exciting than other normal jobs.
"So does this happen every year?" Or was it something special with the new minister?
