...Oh. Culloden was looking at her funny. HEHEHEHE. Wasn't he super proud of her? For daring to be bold and sit next to her previously sworn ARCH ENEMY?

Hilarious, she knew it was.

Boooooooks. Sophie eyed them a bit greedily, wanting them to look and read through RIGHT NOW instead of having to wait for discussion time to be over. So, a bit impatiently - though she tried not to let it show in her tone - she raised a hand at the professor's question and offered her opinion.

"Well, to create a potion, you've gotta start with the ingredients in their most basic forms. Every ingredient used in potions is unique. Each one has specific properties and specific uses and things that are important to know about 'em, and each ingredient has positive effects and negative ones if mixed with ingredients whose properties conflict. Ingredients are your building blocks, and y'have to know everything about each specific ingredient and how it's used and what could go wrong with it when combined with another ingredient. Y'can't just throw ingredients together and hope for the best, even if the ingredients' uses are similar and you'd THINK they'd both be positive additions to the makeup of your potion - it's a super intricate process of considering how ingredients will react and studying them extensively before moving onto the practical part of potion-making." Okay? Okay.

What Zeke had to say was smart, too, about the consistency of ingredients. Though, of course, there were ways around that kind of stuff, like the crushing of coarse ingredients or chopping them up or finding the right chemical balance in the potion for those ingredients to dissolve in some way. She didn't verbalize that, though, because she'd said enough for now and her gaze was back on the books. Would he care if she just... went up there and took one? Right now?
