She finished her crust, and afforded her thumb a lick so as not to waste the mayonnaise that had settled there.

Don't eat it all? Well now was that a challenge? She'd have thought so, and would have been happy enough doing so, but she still had an apple pie to consume and if she was lucky enough, a treat later. "Mine too," she confessed, "Though I don't discriminate, anything sweet has my approval..." but onto more interesting things. Kids. Not that they were interesting, but he didn't seem a great deal older than her. "You have many? Kids?" she asked curiously. Had this conversation happened over a year ago she'd have cared less, but these things were fast becoming a common topic of conversation.

"Likewise." Because thus far she was not regretting letting him sit here, and while she was at it, there was cheesecake to be had. Taking up her fork, she pulled the plate a little closer before spearing the end and raising it to her lips. It didn't get all the way to her mouth before he went and said that. The papers? .... "With all due respect, I don't care much for the media... they thrive on tragedy, controversy and their sole role is not to inform the community of news that is relevant to them, but to misinform them by feeding them propaganda against the very institutions which support their trade." Needless to say, she didn't want to know what it was that Tancred had read, it was probably a croc of a story anyway. Still, mentions of the Daily Prophet or other publications wasn't about to ruin her perfectly good day, and so with an appreciative smile, she popped the cheesecake in her mouth, relishing the creaminess.
A few bites later, his wrap was gone. He drank some coffee to wash it down, quite satisfied with the main portion of his meal. Now it was time to dig in to that slice of cheesecake he had bought. But he was going to be a gentleman and let Emily take the promised portion of cheesecake. Ladies first.

He nodded when she said that anything sweet had her stamp of approval. Tancred agreed with that one hundred percent, though he wasn't a big fan of acid pops that his boys raved about. Speaking of them, the conversation topic changed to children. "I have three, a girl and a set of twin boys. Third and second years at Hogwarts." And not a single one of them was in Hufflepuff. He was still shocked by that. "Yourself?"

Watching as she made her move for the cheesecake, he noticed her pause after mentioning the papers. Was that a touchy subject? If it meant anything, he never said that he believed everything he read. "Very true, which is why remembering that there are multiple sides to every story is important." With that said, Tancred reached for his plate of cheesecake now that Emily took a forkful. From her reaction, it looked like he made an excellent choice for dessert.
