Getting hold of her daily planner, Emily flipped through the seemingly empty pages idly until she came to rest on the present day, a tap of her wand revealing the appointments and to-do's she had planned. Go figure, watching Carter clean, was not on the list, but it was an amusing addition.
It was only as Carter continued talking that she realised how perfectly ordinary and yet soooo weird he was. The man simple. There was no doubting that, but he had his own flavour of crazy in the mix. He could feed the rats, that wasn't her problem... and the fact that he'd tell her no to spiking Branxton's coffee with a bug, well now, that was amusing and incredibly noble. "Such a gentleman," she acknowledged with a nod, eyes still on her planner.
She only looked up at an abrupt popping sound. What in the.... ????

Whatever it was, she'd missed it. But what she could see, helped her deduce what had happened. Cater, floor, brush, head off brush, and then there was the ow. It had broken and hit him - she wasn't sure weather to laugh or roll her eyes.
"You know... I think I prefer my tiles dirty... how about you head back and do some real work now, yeah?"
