Default Training Arena
½ EagleBrain ♥ Creeperdoodle ♥ Raven Dor ♥ Berry ♥ ½ Team House Elf

The training arena is a converted area, made up of what was once the Education Department. To access the training arena you need to have the password, which changes regularly. To access the training arena, you need to go through a certain closet, where you'll be trapped if you happen to get the password wrong, or attempt to enter without clearance.

-------------

The training arena itself often changes, but currently it appears to be the inside of a derelict building. Targets and dummies occasionally, come into view, and depending on the task at hand, MLE employees will be required to eliminate, capture or disable said targets. Sometimes team events may be held here, sometimes individual scenarios.

------------

Please read the RULES before you PLAY.

Current stats will be listed under the scenario in question at the bottom of this post.

The CURRENT scenario is listed beneath the spoiler tags.

2. You are encouraged to interact with people/things that may be present, but as it's a formal training exercise members should RP on their own timeline. Most training activities are designed to measure INDIVIDUAL performance, and therefore should be played as such. There may be room for group options/activities later.

3. Your posts will be deleted if you don't have permission (either IC or OOC) to play here. To play here, you must be:
a) an employee of MLE, with permission granted by your division head or department head

or

b) an employee of another department with an official request for training by your department head AND permission given by Emily Browne, the MLE department head.

4. You can take as many posts as you like to finish the task, or as few, but the more detailed you are the better your character will 'score.'

5. The requirements for each scenario are listed below. Past scenarios are found within a spoiler cut.

6. Please be 'realistic.' If your character is inexperienced, let them BE inexperienced. RP them learning, rather than knowing.

7. Your character's results will be sent via owl or internal memo, and posted on the noticeboard.

8. Sometimes, you may be quoted by Hera, your division head, or a red name account. You will be expected to react. Otherwise, you need to be creative and imaginative, and decide what you see in front of your character. You should not wait for someone to post to you, but you may not double post here. You may make up spells! But do try to use HP canon & SS canon information first where it is available. (An attempt will be made to post for you in a 24-48 hour time frame)

9. As per usual, all site rules apply.

As you walk into the training arena through the janitor's closet, you find yourself in a plain room with a single wide table holding various objects. Each object is tagged with a number and in front of you a card and quill have been provided. Your task is simple. Identify the muggle objects provided.

As you walk into the training arena, through the janitor's closet you find yourself in a quiet, dank, and eerily lit building. It seems derelict and like it may just crumble around your ears at any moment. A small card floats in front of you with your task written on it. You may choose what to do with this card once you have read it.

Quote:
Your mission is to secure the area. There are at least three spells in use to detect intruders, as well as two magical, non-spell methods. You will detect these spells, analyse them, and reverse those which are likely to be dangerous. You need to be able to lead an unarmed squib from the area unscathed.
A blank dummy, presumably the squib, stands next to you.

In addition to this instruction, further prompts were given, including in one case a map on the back of the card.

IC Inventory: Anything your character wishes to bring with them. Portkeys will not work here. And apparition will only work within these walls.
Deadline: 27/07/2014

After speaking the correct password, you walk into the training arena through the janitor's closet and find yourself in a low-lit derelict building, in what appears to be a narrow corridor. You catch a glimpse of the open space in the room beyond - the extensive training floor, as well as a series of hoops or markers which are shown on the floor in the form of glowing red circles. Littering the area are a few Death Eater practice dummies, though there's no telling what else might be concealed. As you approach, you find a small card hovering in front of you advising you of your task.

In addition to this, you will be required to overcome a number of physical barriers as well as dodge, deflect and counter a string of assaults against you. Make it to the last marker unscathed.
As you take a step into the room, you find yourself standing in a glowing red circle on the floor. This is your first marker. Don't get trapped. Good luck.

Once you have a partner, and both of you have passed through the janitors closet together, you emerge at the entrance to a great arena. However, this is not your standard arena. The space has been heavily charmed to project the qualities of various locations – so even if you have duelled once here before, it may not be the same.

Take a stand against your partner as you would in a standard duel, at the centre of the arena, or alternatively make use of the landscape and opt to develop other skills before/while engaging in combat. This is your choice.

You will, of course, be graded on your ability to defend as well as attack. Your time in the arena concludes when one of you cannot continue, or until one of you concede. Remember, this is a training exercise and though we encourage you to challenge each other, it is not your aim to grievously harm your partner.

Training Arenas: Amphitheatre, abandoned factory, forest clearing, vacant, white, office level, train tunnel. React to any one of the provided scenes as your training arena.

Simon Bennett - Commendation (95%)
Jory Stonewall - Merit (91%)
