Mariel might have found it interesting that the slightly older woman in the lifts had been in the same Hogwarts house as she had been if it were not for the given situation. Being stuck in a lift sucked no matter which way she looked at it and, while the present company seemed nice enough, she didn't even know any of their names. Not that she really thought it would matter much even if they were her best friends, this wasn't the most ideal situation.
So she did not comment on the Ravenclaw remark as it was uttered immediately preceding the faulty incident. Instead, it left her mind completely as she focused on the current predicament and the ideas given by the occupants. Contact maintenance.. good idea, and she was actually slightly annoyed with herself for not thinking of it first before the slight panic had risen in her chest. Though she did find it remotely interesting that a patronus was suggested but not actually carried out.
"Certainly," she said, shooting a faint smile in the direction of the mystery man. She pulled out her wand, then thought for a moment. Where was maintenance again? She guessed it was one of those easily overlooked until you actually needed it. But she thought that the daycare and food court and maintenance were all run under the same area.. and that wasn't too far away. She'd send her patronus in that direction. Pointing her wand, she mustered up her happy thought then commanded, "Expecto Patronum!" The silvery Jarvey erupted from her wand and disappeared through the door, hopefully in the right direction.
