She watched as the shopkeeper attended to the wizard
ahead of her in line. The way his green eyes were unseeing, his
words were distant and... almost cold. There was something
about him that was resigned, perhaps defeated. Or maybe he
was completely unaware that he had accepted an indifferent
role in life.
As she set her purchases on the counter, she politely
smiled at him, and he returned barely a nod. Maybe there was
something she could do for him. Some way to help him. He was
not happy, that much was clear to her. She knew from
experience.
