40. Spell

“What’re you doing?” Bambi Castell asked playfully.

With a serious expression, Beezus eyed her younger sister. “I’m busy reading Mom’s Spell Journal.” She showed her the small, emerald notebook.

“Hmmm?” Her sister replied sneakily and grabbed the journal without permission.

“Bambi! Give it back….or I’ll hex you!” For a moment, they scrutinized each other with intense glares.

“Try me, Beezus.”

“You’re... such a little brat, I wanna turn you into..... a rat, with a swish and flick, you’ll have fur so thick, run now.... Bambi, and stop bothering me!”

Upon hearing that, Bambi laughed and threw the book at her.
