There is a MoM sorting... aka placement.

When the time comes (which if I'm not mistaken is at the end of school term? or after the school sorting?) then you just fill out a questionnaire with charrie info and credentials etc and you can apply for departments/ particular roles... though you might be placed elsewhere, depending on what position your charrie is suited for.
