Melanie pondered the professor's question as she cut at her lasagna. Who'd have thought rolls could be so intimidating?!
She raised her hand and hesitantly offered, "I would say that you should rip off small pieces and eat the bread roll that way, as opposed to picking up the whole thing and taking a bite out of it."
Then she paused, a question bubbling to the surface of her mind. "But, Professor, I wonder...how would you eat the roll if you buttered it? Because it seems like cutting it in half, buttering it, and then ripping small pieces would get really messy."
She hoped that made sense and wasn't just stupid.
